khmer people should understand that in this day and age, viet/youn could not control, annex or colonize cambodia and khmer people again. they actually tried that in the past, according to history, but we know they failed miserably. however, they do want to be friends or be an ally of cambodia, though. it's for their political benefit to have khmer as their ally. so, they will try to do anything and help any khmer faction who wanted to be their allies. so, the hun sen administration presently in cambodia fits that criteria. but again, who to say something can last forever? only time will tell. of course viet/youn can't control or annex or colonize cambodia, but they want to influence cambodian politics, though. that's the difference, you see. the issue is viet/youn wanted to influence cambodia but khmer people do not want that from them, so it will be a struggle most definitely. only time will tell. i think only education will make khmer people think for themselves. when khmer people learn how to think for themselves, that's when cambodia will be different from the past, you know.
unity is good for cambodia; however, i don't know about the KR because they killed too many of their own people, you know! i think in the name of unity, cambodia must respect and lived by the rule of law because without the rule of law, the KR will again kill everybody, include their own people indiscriminately again. so, that, cambodia and khmer people have to be wise and careful about. do not allow ignorant people to rule like during the KR regime. we need good, highly educated leadership who is very knowledgeable about not only cambodia but the world as well. do not allow ignorant people rule again, ok! reform the way we choose our leaders!

cambodia should never let khmer krom and khmer leu in leadership position in cambodia. yes, those people, although they are ethnics khmer, they do not know or understand or even speak proper khmer anymore, so, don't allow them to be our leaders in cambodia. to be our leader, a person(s) has to qualified and past rigid requirement. i think cambodia should focus more on reforming the way we pick or choose our leader(s) again. to me, khmer krom and khmer leu, although, they are khmer, they are not the same as khmer in cambodia, you know. yes, sorry to say this to khmer krom and khmer leu people, if you want to qualify for khmer leader, you have to meet strict or rigid requirements and qualification, etc... just because you are ethnics khmer in the name only, you are not automatically qualified to be our leader, ok. cambodia had already seen when you khmer krom and khmer leu did to cambodia and our own people during the stupid KR era, you kill our own people due to revenge, hatred, ignorance, uneducated, misunderstanding, fear, etc, etc... well, cambodia do not allow you khmer krom and khmer leu to do that again to cambodia and khmer people in cambodia, ok! you have to past strict law and you could be fired if you do not follow through even if you are qualified to be our cambodian leader, you know!
that said, khmer khmer should spell out the qualification like khmer language proficiency exam, meet all educational requirements, past background check, no history of mental instability, no felony records, no criminal records, must be khmer by birth, must meet the age requirement whatever that age requirement is, must past many many other exams both oral and written, etc, etc... you see, make it rigid and strict for the leadership position!
i think if cambodia can do this, khmer people will have a good, qualified leader(s) for our country that will be different from the past, really! may god bless and help cambodia to achieve this reform in the way we choose or pick our leader(s).

I mutually i agree with some of our commentators about the UNITY OF ALL KHMER even though Khmer leu or Krom or ethnics Khmer.
