Today-30 March 2012-the Cambodian Center for Human Rights' Human Rights Network Project releases Newsletter 4, A Quarterly Newsletter on Human Rights Activism.
The Human Rights Network (“the Network”) Project is a Cambodian Center for Human Rights (“CCHR”) project, generously funded by Diakonia, which has been established in order to support human rights activism as a community level. The Project, which began in June 2010, facilitates training on human rights to grassroots activists working for Community Based Organizations (“CBOs”). The Project is currently active in three provinces; Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, and Siem Reap. The Project will be extended to other provinces in time as CCHR seeks to support the decentralization of human rights activism throughout Cambodia.
This is the fourth quarterly newsletter by the HRN Project. This newsletter series is aimed at providing interested stakeholders with an update on project implementation and of activities of project participants – namely the members of the Network. The newsletter will look at activities undertaken by Network members advocating for communities embroiled in land conflicts and will examine judicial harassment of Network members during the last quarter. The newsletter will also provide information about a training conducted by the CCHR Network team and a community forum conducted by a Network member. The Network members are ordinary people seeking to promote and protect human rights in their communities.
For further information please see newsletter attached, available in Khmer and English.
Best regards,
CCHR
