The first war criminal to be convicted by Cambodia’s Khmer Rouge tribunal will testify in the court’s landmark Case 002 today.
Convicted S-21 prison chief Kaing Guek Eav, alias Duch, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the tribunal on appeal in February for crimes against humanity and war crimes.
In the first case against Duch, who was found responsible for the deaths of more than 12,000 men, women and children at the notorious torture and interrogation facility, judges found that “Brother Number 2” Nuon Chea, currently on trial, was Duch’s supervisor.
The UN-backed tribunal is tasked with trying the senior leaders of the Khmer Rouge regime and those most responsible for the regime’s atrocities.
Prosecutors believe Duch has a unique insight into the structure of the central committee of the Khmer Rouge.
Duch, who was due to testify tomorrow, has been called to the courtroom earlier after Nuon Chea, the regime’s chief ideologue, announced this morning that he would exercise his right to remain silent.
Judges had anticipated questioning the senior leader on administrative structures of the regime and his roles and responsibilities.
However, Nuon Chea reiterated a request repeatedly made by his defense lawyers that the court consider the effect of the American B52 bomb bombardment of Cambodia from 1965-1973 and the death and destruction caused by this. When judges did not specifically rule in favour of Nuon Chea’s request, Nuon Chea elected to remain silent.
Duch, who was famously candid and cooperative giving testimony in Case 001, will be questioned by tribunal judges this afternoon about the administrative structure of the regime, the roles and responsibilities of the accused and communications lines.

(Duch) à la place du nom réel (Kaing Gueak Eav ) le chief prison de Tuol Sleng. Le nom (Duch) n'etait pas le nom révolutionnaire comme on le croit mais plutôt pour cacher la vérité.
L'Organisation Khmer Rouge (Angkar-leu អង្គការលើ) a amplifié et publié le faux nom (Duch) comme le bouc émissaire pour blanchir leur crime contre de l'humanité.
Le faux nom (Duch) est copié , répété Non-Stop par le média
en particulier le cinéma documentaire de continuer à tromper
le public et en même temps pour attaquer, déshonorer les noms célèbres tels que ( Duch Sidem; Duch Kimhak; Duch Som) et le maître de la musique traditionnelle khmère
(Sok Duch) de Takeo province etc...

The Khmer Rouge Organization (Angkar-leu អង្គការលើ) baptized (Duch) instead of real names (Kaing Guek Eav) is not the revolutionary name as is commonly believed but rather to hide the truth.
The Khmer Rouge Organization (Angkar-leu អង្គការលើ) amplified, and broadcast advertising, the false name (Duch) as the scapegoat to launder their crime against humanity.
The false name (Duch) is copied and repeated Non-Stop by the global media to continue deceive the world and also to attack and dishonor real name famous (Duch) such that (Duch Sidim; Duch Kimhak; Sok Duch) and (Duch Som) grandfather's Ms.Theary Seng etc.

The fucken Extraordinary Chambers in the courts of Cambodia is just a circus show or a freak show! This court is designed to dehumanize the Cambodian in front of the world community and from now the Cambodian are associated with mass murderers! It is so sad and funny that only Cambodian are on trial and what about others?
Now is the opening of the new show set up by the court and the court want AH Duch to point finger at his Cambodian counterpart for committing mass murder! Yes...all you stupid Cambodian go ahead pointing fingers at each other while the world laugh at you because this court was designed to shame the real killers and it has something to do with political than finding real justice for Cambodian! The court setting doesn't guarantee justice!
