Last night (01 May 2012), following the shooting and murder of Mr. Chut Wutty, several news agencies provided different versions about this story.
Some commented that Wutty shot (military police In) Ratana first, that’s why Ratana shot back to defend himself. Others said that Ratana shot and killed himself after he killed Wutty.
On the other hand, last night, the Apsara channel [owned by Hun Mana, Hun Xen’s daughter] gave its version of the story by saying that the murder of Wutty was indeed committed by In Ratana, but there could be a third party involved. This third party was dressed in civilian and he came at the same time [as the dispute] to stop Ratana from shooting Wutty. It appears that a scuffle ensued to wrestle the rifle, then the gun misfired and led to the death of Ratana.
Bayon commented also that, it could also be that the civilian came to grab Ratana’s gun and opened fire on Wutty because he was angry at Wutty cursing the military police officer.
The comments were derided by viewers who indicated that the commentators are under the boot of politicians or powerful people.
The viewers indicated that these commentators did not know how to do their job, and it would be better if these commentators came to ask the viewers’ opinion instead. The viewers asked where the civilian person come from if reports have not seen any? Furthermore, if there was really a civilian, who would that civilian be?
Furthermore, a question was raised by an elder gentleman who used to be a soldier. He said that for gun owners, if someone were to come and wrestle their guns, the gun owners would never allow the guns to misfire and shoot themselves because gun owners would never hand the gun to someone who come wrestle the gun away while holding on to the gun barrel. Gun owners would hold on the handle so that they can point the barrel upward or downward and pointed it away from themselves. Gun owners would have learned the rules and they would never allow the rifles to misfire easily and hit other people. Furthermore, the gun owners could trigger the safety switch [to prevent it from being fired] or they could remove the bullet magazine in order to prevent misfiring.
The viewers said that comments made on the Apsara channel were too shallow, they are worst than kids joking around. This a comment that begs to differ from anybody else.
