The U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama are looking forward to visiting Cambodia this year in order to attend ASEAN meetings, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asia and Pacific Affairs Kurt Campbell said Thursday.
His remarks were made during a meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Peace Palace, Eang Sophallet, spokesman for Hun Sen, told reporters after the meeting.
Kurt said Hillary will attend the ASEAN Regional Forum in July and Obama will join the East Asia Summit in November.
During the meeting, Kurt also promised the United States will try to encourage more U.S. investors to Cambodia and to the whole ASEAN region to cement ties between the United States and the ASEAN.
Hun Sen said that the upcoming visits of Hillary and Obama will bring closer ties between Cambodia and the United States and their visits will help build more confidence among U.S. investors in Cambodia's political and economic situation.
The United States is the fifth largest investor in Cambodia. According to the figures of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, from 1994 to 2011, the country has received a promised investment of 1.3 billion U.S. dollars from the United States.

US have been playing double games with Cambodian and Cambodia.
One hand they say promoting democracy in Cambodia the other hand they promote and support the so-called Husn Sen regime and yuon Hanoi.
Khmer must learn from real Khmer history and always remember that foreigner is foreinger their interest always come first, Khmer interests alway come last or never come at all if we don't go to them.
It is the time American have to pay their dept to Cambodian during Vietname war .How many inocent Cambodian families was exploted by B52 and chimical inside cambodia .
The world powerful country should respect democracy law than other .Why Cambodian still owe the dept to USA.Is it because Cambodia is a small and no power to say for their sufferring.

I am Khmer American is living in CA, I speak in behalf of all the Khmer that love the freedom and love the democracy, I urge Hillary Clinton and Mr. Barack Obama put more pressure to Cambodian government which is the puppet of Vietnamese to obey the International laws like human right and the freedom of speech, land crabbing rt..This fucker government violate all those rules. Please helping us to change the traitor Hun Sen, we needed change as soon as possible.
Stop dreaming DUMB Khmer. US and UN do not care about our country. They only care how much they can get out of the Khmer Rouge Hun Sen and CPP.
Opposition parties cannot give them anything, therefore they serve no interest to the US or UN.
So stop being DUMB lazy uneducated Khmer and stop blaming others. DUMB Khmer.
