A Cambodian court has charged a security guard with "involuntary homicide" after shooting incidents that left two people - an environmental activist and a police officer - dead.

Chut Wutty was shot dead about a week ago while gathering evidence of illegal logging in a remote forest in Koh Kong province.

Police first said he had been involved in a shoot-out with an officer. Then they said the officer had shot Chut Wutty before committing suicide.

A local rights group, Licadho, says it believes the military police officer killed Chut Wutty and then was shot with his own gun during a scuffle with the security guard, who tried to disarm him.

The security guard, named as Ran Boroth, was working for Timbergreen, the company licensed to log the site for a Chinese-funded dam.

It is unclear why the military policeman was in the forest at the time but police are regularly hired by private firms to act as security guards.

=I never thought that Cambodian can be this stupid! This is so fucken stupid to copy a terrorist! It doesn't make any sense at all! So all the Cambodian polices out there are on a suicidal mission when confronting Cambodian people? This is a classic trait of terrorists who are on suicidal mission! This is a domestic terrorist act against Cambodian people!

Hold all those mother fuckers against the wall and make them stand on fire and bring them all to justice!

He was not Thai. He was Cambodian so his name should be spelled "Chut Vuthy" or "Chhut Vuthy"
