BANGKOK, 18 May 2012 - Supreme Commander General Tanasak Patimapragorn said that Thailand and Cambodia have been discussing the border issue, adding that both nations are on good terms.
General Tanasak stated since both nations are having good relations, a joint military drill for disaster mitigation will be conducted once again, after being halted for a while.
He added that members of a joint working committee on the Preah Vihear Temple issue are cooperating well. He said discussions are constructive, with members agreeing to make the current disputed zone bomb free.
The Supreme Commander said the next meeting's discussion will be on the process to abide by the International Court of Justice’s decision ordering both sides to withdraw their troops. He explained that the meeting will find ways that will be fair for both sides, and that if the talks go smoothly, there would be no need for a third nation to mediate between the two sides.

well, in my humble opinion, that's a step in the right direction for good neighborly relations; however, there are still a lot of work to be done like properly redemarcate our international borderlines, etc by respect the existing law, not by intruding and steal from cambodia like our preah vihear and by trying to block cambodia's accessway to our preah vihear temple by making illegal claim of the surround areas based on emotion and vengeful or what evil intention out there, you know. we will have to hear what the icj reinterpretation of the preah vihear case before we can properly and permanently redemarcate all of the international borderlines with all of cambodia's neighboring countries that shared the common borderlines together. everything to do with our borderlines should be work out through the international law channel in order to find justice for cambodia who have seen our lands, territories shrunk since the khmer empire era of angkor. only the rule of law will bring us all justice, you know. god bless my country cambodia.

The next round of military conflict is just around the corner and never believe a word of the Siem thugs! If these Siem thugs come and we must be prepared to confront them.
