PHNOM PENH, May 14  -- Keo Puth Rasmey, chairman of Cambodia's royalist Funcinpec Party, said Monday that his visit in China last week has brought fruitful and meaningful relations and cooperation between the Funcinpec and the Communist Party of China (CPC).
During the one-week stay in China, Keo Puth Rasmey had met with He Guoqiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
"In the meeting with His Excellency He Guoqiang, we had exchanged experiences and opinions to strengthen and expand the party-to-party relationship," he told reporters. "The visit created deeper friendship ties and built more confidence between the Funcinpec and the Communist Party of China."
According to Keo Puth Rasmey, He Guoqiang said that he will make an official visit to Cambodia in June in order to further enhance traditional relations and cooperation between China and Cambodia.
Funcinpec Party was founded in 1981 by the retired king Norodom Sihanouk. Currently, it is the only one coalition party of the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP).
