of course, some khmer with youn spelling name were probably of khmer krom origin like son san, etc. khmer krom was always a part of cambodia, despite the french made political map that make it a part of vietnam or youn country today. anyway, about the preah vihear verdict of 1962, the icj did use the official treaty map made from 1904 to 1908, so for siem to make illegal claim of the so-called 4.6 sq. km accessway to cambodia's preah vihear temple is their way of trying to block accessway to the temple from the khmer side of the border as they other side was so steep. so, in their political sense, siem wanted to steal preah vihear temple from cambodia, and take took advantage of cambodia during years of isolation and political strife in cambodia to make such claim. well, the icj will see to it that the map used then will be honored forever, not cheated by siem in the name to steal from cambodia, you know. that's all.
