Thousands of people, some coming from Phnom Penh and other provinces, flocked to a tree in O'Ta Poang commune, Bakan district, Pursat province. These people believe that the power of the tree could save them as they wish. Listen to the audio report on how a practical joke turned into this gullible fiction.

៦. រណ្ដៅស្រះដែលគេជីកបានឈើ និងប្រជាពលរដ្ឋដែលមានជំនឿដួសយកទឹក ឬកើបយកភក់យកទៅព្យាបាលជំងឺ។

believe like is is confined to local and probably rooted back to primitive society or believe in animism. i think there is nothing wrong with people's believe if it benefits them in their mental health way; however, it's not for everybody. i'm sure the country of cambodia don't believe in animism like this. i think it's very local and confined only to a small area of places in cambodia. it looks ridiculous to the non-believers, but to these believers, it meant something to them, you know. it's ok, really! it's good for their specific culture and mental illness, you know. for your information, some people do dissertation or thesis on this kind of topic for their college degree, you know, for example, i know medical anthropologist do this kind of study all over the world, really. i think medical anthropology students should pick cambodia for their studies as well, you know.

When the country has destroyed by civil war again and again, especially by the neighbor.Most educated was killed .People have not time to educate to understand where the world is up to. You can see ,Because they are uneducated they can not fight for their right, for their country only they can do just pray for help, and curse the people who are harm to them.
I alway think Khmer not stupid. Khmer is smart if you allow them to have freedom and time to and educate themes,
