Namhong causes stir at Khmer Rouge court

Comrade Yaem aka Hor 5 Hong
Tuesday, 07 August 2012
Stuart White
The Phnom Penh Post

Nuon Chea’s defence team will file a complaint to the Khmer Rouge tribunal this week, alleging that Minister of Foreign Affairs Hor Namhong’s comments published at his insistence in the Post last week amounted to government interference, the defence announced yesterday.

In the letter, which ran in the August 3 edition, the minister hit back at witness testimony last week that alleged that he was in charge of Boeng Trabek detention centre by stating, without refuting the testimony, that he was a prisoner there, and lambasted the defence for “stirring up controversy around public figures like myself”.

The letter ended: “My greatest hope is that one day justice is done and the legacy of the Khmer Rouge is given its proper place in the dustbin of history—without defence or controversy.”

The attempt by Nuon Chea’s defence counsel, Jasper Pauw, to explain the complaint abruptly ended when the court president shut off his microphone.

“You’re not allowed to proceed, and the chamber has advised that if there is any issue to be raised, you may raise it in writing,” said Nonn.

For the rest of the afternoon, the court continued to hear the testimony of Khmer Rouge Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Propaganda employee Suong Sikoeun.

According to Sikoeun, part of whose job was translating foreign reports on Cambodia, even summarising these reports to anyone other than his immediate superior, Ieng Sary, could have invited accusations of anti-revolutionary ideology.

“[Ieng Sary’s] instructions were … that I should not add or omit anything,” said Sikoeun. “For that reason, that’s how it was reported to him, and it was no problem. At that time, if I reported [to the rest of the leadership] what was broadcast on Voice of America, I would be accused of having the same view as what was on Voice of America.”

Sikoeun himself was accused in a handful of S-21 confessions, many of which were so improbable, he said, that they read like “novels”.

Later in life, he continued, on a trip to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, he found photos of several friends he knew had been falsely accused.

“If I knew that was the result, I would never have joined the [Khmer Rouge],” he said. “That’s not a revolution.”

Sikoeun’s testimony will continue tomorrow.

For those who had lived during the Khmer Rouge regime.

Concerning the Khmer Rouge era that you are still interested and seem not to forget the past, let focus on the living situation at present day in our country, I don’t where you live now. Can you compare by living in the Khmer Rouge regime and now, which living society is the better sharp? Lets’ start at the present day, we are facing problems such as land grabbing, hit and run, argument, killing each other, rubbing, stabbing, no admiration, no respecting to the law and everyone want to be superior. In Khmer Rouge regime, did you encounter the problems as I mention above? Absolutely not my friend, we had had people work in order for the living, the killing field was another issue, because they were crime against Angka, the starvation, sick are part of life. Do you think now no body get kill, sick like when you were living in Khmer Rouge regime? Thus, there’s not thing new, it is part of life, we all will died someday base on God. I am so sick and tire when I heard the people complaining about Khmer Rouge business.

To Former Khmer Rouge,

You are either a sick person or a person with unstable mind which constitutes a psychotic mentality. You wish to compare the present problems with Khmer Rouge regime, this is clearly you appreciate your once glorified regime but now is no longer exist and will never exist. Khmer Rouge regime existed was due to Sihanouk, Saloth Sar, Ieng Sary, Khieu Samphon, Hu Nim, Hu Yon and Noun Chea, etc.,These individuals ought to be prosecuted in the ECCC, but it appeared to be prosecuting the wrong persons for the wrong crimes. Since you are a former Khmer Rouge, you ought to come forward and state your crimes against humanity if you dare, but YOU ARE A COWARD and DARE NOT give yourself up to the court or least speak the truth to the ECCC for crimes you have committed against Khmer people. This is your responsibility which you must do first before anything else. If you are THE MAN who claimed to love your Khmer Rouge Regime then this is your FIRST STEP to admit that you have made mistakes against your own people...or else go and kill yourself because no one cares about the FUCKING Khmer Rouge Regime.

Now wait a minute Xmen 10;40pm.
I dislike this xKR for cursing and hating my Heroe Mrs. Mu Soc Hua who fights so hard to promote Democracy. I suspected that this person may be a Yuon spy or Hun Sen spy, etc.

From reading this person wrote his/her comment is partially making sense, but partially is making no sense. I pretty much don't believe that person would have a good intention.

BUT When you said "...Khmer Rouge regime existed was due to Sihanouk, Saloth Sar, Ieng Sary, Khieu Samphon, Hu Nim, Hu Yon and Noun Chea, etc..." I have to tell you that you lied or you got it from the wrong source. From the wrong source or from Yuon propaganda, it would destroy Khmers' unity.

Khmer Rouge existed: please try to read"
(1) "Phan Boi Chau and The Dong-Du Movement".

(2)"Thailand and the Southeast Asian networks of the Vietnamese Revolution 1885-1954."

And read many more sources that linked to the creation of Khmer Rouge. Those names were not the KR' creators, they were having no alternative choice since the KR were already too strong in every countryside of Cambodia by NVN.

There are many secret documents (in Geopolitics) recently released related to Vietnamese' expansionism in Cambodia and Laos. The Yuon planned this since the French still controlled over Cambodia.

These names you listed were small people even though they were leaders, but they were just nothing.

If you reply by cursing me, that is your problem.

10:40 pm XMAN,

All right, let’s chat I work all night. Let’s make it shorts, I am not a sick or psychiatric mentality person as you stated, I am an ordinary person. If you want me to appear and admit at the court, hey! Friend, I am not the only one Khmer Rouge who was survived, there’re lot…I mean almost the entire in any provinces in Cambodia, they also have had their families jointed the Khmer Rouge troop too, so I am not the only one. Khmer Rouge era, we have had lot of educate people, they aren’t dumb shit as you thought. You don’t have to be named, who is who was originally created Khmer Rouge, I knew all about this, don’t you think in Cambodia now there’s not many Khmer Rouge left? There’re lot and even they are lived abroad as well. And of course, I love my country and I missed the regime, because there was NO YOUN/VIEtnamese in the country. I am concern about Vietnamese living in Cambodia and latter Cambodia will be came Vietnam. You all Khmer should concern about this, stop against Khmer Rouge business. It’s over, it’ past, what can you expect? Do not use fucking and sucking words to me, I don’t get use to it,
it’s not professional. Be courtesy would you?

If Hor 5 Honh claims that he was a prisoner himself, explain how he escaped being sent to S21 prison? He must one lucky prisoner! everyone knows that the KR even kill common people so bing a former ambassador would not get a chane to be spared by the KR unless he was part of the them. So he claim by the witness is most likely true! ដូច្នេះវាវាជាការពិតហើយ។

3. Rhos Ngim.

4. Norn Sourng.

5. Ney Sarann.

Heng Samrin and Chea Sim also fomrer Khmer Viet Minh under military command of So Phim, So Phim killed himself in 1978 after a failed attemp to escape to Hanoi but Heng Samrin and Chea Sim, Hun Sen ad many more were lucky and came back with yuon military and yuon advisors in 1979 to inflow illegal million of youn both military personals and civilian to vote for for Hun Sen and yuon military personals to suppress Cambodian people when we uprise for instance anti demonstration against fraud election in 1998.

6. Note: So Phim and Rhos Ngim were in law between 1975-1978.

To 12:16 AM,

I appreciate it very much of your response, but I will blame who were the leaders and it seems to me that the names above as I have mentioned were involved whether it is directly or indirectly, in addition, it was during their watch or control that 1.75 millions of lives are vanished or dissappeared from Cambodia. But I do understand from your point of view. I have read many books pertaining to how Khmer Rouge came into existence. I do not wish to bring about the birth of Khmer Rouge at this moment since it is not important to me, but what is the argument is about...was who were controlling at the time of the fall of Cambodia and who brought this atrocity to Cambodia. If you wish to understand anything about Indochina at all please read and research more about the First Communist International, Second Communist International and the Third Communist International then you will realize where Ho Chi Minh came from and who is the real Ho Chi Minh and what were his motivation to uniting his nation between North Vietnam and South Vietnam. I do not wish to bring those former Khmer Issaraks, Khmer Viet Minhs and Khmer Rough into the picture, since most of them are dead except the names as I have mentioned above. The killings of our people were under their watch or control. I rest my case.

To Former Khmer Rouge:

I am sorry about the cursing...my apology. I guess I am so angry when I heard the term Khmer Rouge. I think you are still a young man and perhaps do not know much about the birth of Khmer Rouge and who were behind the atrocity against Khmer People. Just imagine at the time of Khmer Rouge liberation in April 17, 1975, Kampuchea has a total population of close to 7 millions, but after the Vietnamese invasion, Cambodian populations fell to about 3.9 or 4.1 millions people at or after January 7, 1979.
The strength of any nation can be measured with its eintire popuplations for the purpose of doing business and development, but we are at the present time is lacking of human resources and this is how Vietnam, China, and Thailand want to put Cambodia in this position, so we cannot fight or demand anything from them and Khmer Rouge fell into this trap and where these countries want Cambodia to be in...a state of weakness and chaos. You should not be proud of a regime that you do not understand what it is all about. Look at the fall Russia. You should not focus on Communism, but rather think of ways where all Khmers can learn and benefit from our own thought process and the right frame of mine. Think about it for a moment, after 30 years, only Duch got indicted and convicted for something he did in the past, but what happened to the rest of those Khmer Rouge personnels that were involved in the killings of their own people? Have you ever thought about that. There is no accountability, no responsibilities among the leaders regime, therefore, those 1.75 millions of lives meant nothing to Cambodia as a country. This is something that I cannot go to sleep at night. Someone MUST HELD RESPONSIBLED FOR THIS CRIMES. This is the problem that I am having. The same way as you are responsibled for your children in your household. If you do not understand then ask questions. If you cannot put these puzzles together then ask more questions. Do not just praise for the regime that destroyed Cambodia under a leadership that filled will stupid and ignorant leaders. Do not learn from them, but do what is right as a person. Right is right and wrong is wrong. You cannot mix the two together. If you are guilty then admit you are a guilty party, but if you are innocence then let the public judge you for who you really are...not yourself.

I also rest my case.

9:18 AM,
Books, books.. many books, different authors, different analysis.
The authors who are pro Hanoi, would write covering up the expansionism strategy that Vietnamese have created. Many authors that are pro Hanoi and paid by Hanoi like Trudy Jacobsen wrote her papers siding toward Hanoi, etc./

I don't care how many books you read, but I offered you to read many Top Secret documents just released, and they were related.
If you believed that the Vietnamese did not create KR, did not create unrest civil war as they did in 1658-present, then you are working for Hanoi to complete its goal.

You lied the readers, and you ignored the Vietnamese expansionism in Cambodia and Laos was drafted for a long times ago.
Do you really know for a fact that there were no Viet Rouge among Khmer Rouge? Was it because the Viets can speak fluently Khmers?

What is the difference between now and then in 1658? (First Vietnamese military Intervention in Cambodia 1658) The same strategy Vietnamese applied upon Cambodia.

From Viets' archive no true story in it but from the mercenaries, there were many unspeakable things the Vietnamese did in Cambodia and caused civil war.

You are interested to condemn the unarmed Khmers, but you cover up the Vietnamese mighty army taking over Laos and Cambodia and causing unrest civil war in Cambodia.

Who are you anyway? Pham Xuan An, the perfect Viet spy?

To 10:31 AM,

There is no deny that Vietnam has involved in Cambodian Internal Policies, there is no deny that Vietnam has involved in the process of creating Indochina Communist Party or ICP. It is not something that I am not aware of, but I simply stated from my perspective since I will based myself under the principle of rule of law even for Cambodia as a weak nation and not to fuel war among its neighbors. I am not a spy nor I am working for Vietnam, but from an argumentative point of view which I do not owe anyone, but to voice my opinion. I simply like peace over war. Having said that, please stop saying childish things to me...you have no affect on me if you like to accusing others, it means you are weak and cannot debate from an open mind person or as an educator. State your fact...back up with your proof and debate freely without personal retaliation. I am 100% KHMER. I LOVE MY COUNTRY. I LOVE MY PEOPLE. I AM BORN AS KHMER AND I WILL DIE AS KHMER.

Thank you

If you love all Khmers, why do you Hate and curse MP Mu SocHua who fights to bring Democracy into her country Cambodia? Who are you? A Yuon perfect spy Pham Xuan An? He would not make it this time.

And you claimed to know all the history? Oh this one I got to see it. OK share history you read.

Yeahh we heard Yuon claimed to be 100% Khmer, but their words spreading only dividing, making false accusation against Khmers who were powerless and army-less.

Well, and how would you prove your 100% Khmer to us?

When someone put you on the spot you'd curse or call him or her "childish". It's outdated, you better come up with some sort of references (documents) to support your claims or otherwise, don't bother to make arguments.
