I am always happy to see young Cambodians doing something for the country. Just hope that he is different from Sourn Serey Ratha.

The difficulty for Cambodia is that Ah Kwack's refusal to accept he is a traitor.

Who is this Sam Serey, the author?
He should be ashamed to have his book published without editing.
His English is terrible and his knowledge of the Cambodian history is out of whack…

2:41AM,

I agree the book may need some rework, but at least Serey made considerable efforts to produce it. It's a good start.

and you sir, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

Starting on the wrong footing is not a good start.
“sa’im chea cheang sror dey si chek kchey chea cheang nov moat toteh”
If you do something wrong you should have the courage to accept criticism, otherwise you would be Ah Hun Sen too.
Remember this book is written in English for the worldwide readership.
What do they think of Khmer as a nation to have the book published in this low quality content?
I am afraid that it might be backfired from the author’s intension.
I am concerned because I am a Khmer too, or else I would not give a damn.

The book may not be in best quality as far as the language aspect of it, but I was able to understand it and I don't think his history knowledge is "out of whack." Having said that, it could have been editing a little bit more. Don't get upset with 3:44 about his/her poor constructive, because some people are good at it.

3:44AM,

If you so concern about Khmer, Why don't you do something to protect Khmer's Lands from the youn?
If you are Khmer, Why don't you pointing out of the ugly side of the youn have been doing to Khmer?
Are you real really Khmer?

2:41AM, You Ah Sath Youn Koun mee somphaun. (You are a son of a whore Viet Sluts.) You are not Khmer. That Book is none of your concern.

Never mind about his English.
Let’s talk about his history lesson.
On page 4, second paragraph and line 6th:
“…; French colonist started to control Cambodia from the reign of King Norodom Soramridh till the end of his reign.”

And who was King Norodom Soramridh? He was Sihanouk’s father who was king from 1955 to his death in 1960. So according to the author Cambodia was under the French colony only for FIVE years!!!

Here is the link that contradicts what the author has written:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norodom_Suramarit

There are a lot more errors like the above and this book is supposed to be a domencutary!!!

Let's cool down a bit and talk like a real patriot.

Like I said before the book may need some rework, but it is a good start for a young man like Serey.

I am positive that as time goes by Serey will get better at it. That's how many good writers progress over the years.

What I like about Serey, even this is the first time I hear about him, is that he is courageous and willing to do something good for the country. I hope his action will inspire other youngsters.

You must the every first poster @1:51 AM.

The book needs more editing. Maybe hire an English professor to correct it. The major problem with the book is not so much on the grammar (which can be corrected with 1 hr re-editing), but the content lacks any data to back up the claims. If this book is intended for a White readers, they are very keen on scholasticism, that is, references and back up documents if you want to make a claim. For example, if you claim that there are 4.5 million youns living legally and illegally in Cambodia, what are sources for such claim. How about the bridge collapse incident, could it be normal or conspired. Where is the data to back up the claim that youns were behind it and what gain do they get out of this. Without data and references, the White readers will find it unpersuasive, and they might think that the author lacks insight or unreliable, and they will discount the work as a fiction , driven by his own motive to deceive the readers.

I am pretty sure most critic above have a good intention, but it doesn't seems fair to this author who is trying to do something good yet people trying bashing him about his English. Most people are quick when it comes to criticing other works but they have done nothing. For those of you that think you can do better, write your own book and make us proud.
