Sreynuch, 38, known affectionately as Mom, was arrested in the Sre Leap Hotel, in Daun Penh district, around 6:30pm, on suspicion of human trafficking, according to the national military police spokesman Kheng Tito.
“Chan Sreynuch is an active leader of human trafficking in Cambodia,” Tito said.
According to him, Sreynuch would lead young women — often aspiring singers and students — to her salon, then connect them with wealthy businessmen.
Three of her manicured and coiffed callgirls were also detained at the hotel, along with her bodyguard, Kong Chandoung, who was later released.
Sreynuch, who is yet to be charged, was being held at the national military police headquarters following questioning at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, Tito said.
The other women were sent to Phnom Penh Municipal Hall’s rehabilitation centre for “re-education”.
Sea Sambath, deputy commander of the national military police, said his forces had followed and observed Sreynuch’s activities for a month.
“According to our military police’s investigation, Chan Sreynuch was a human trafficker and also a broker who [solicited] singers or other girls who were her customers,” Sambath said.
“They would come to have their make-up done at the Mikasa shop before having sex with people in hotels or guesthouses in Cambodia,” he said.
Sreynuch, her defence lawyer, and the court could not be reached for comments.

Sreynuch dressed like that held a speaker like a reporter? Well she looks like a hooker. This woman needs to be locked up for ever.

Most khmer women I know off are very mean and nasty. some even manage to buy acid to chuck onto their lovers. Not many of them are educated and the language they used is so brutal like 'me nis-me nos-ngay or haine (bitch) or (bastard). They don't even like to call each other by their beautiful name but by such swear words like 'dog' ( R cha-kea) and also they like to curse their children like 'R trove crop' (be hit by a bullet) or 'R ontash-bane' (be hit by lightning strike). Most of them are really sick in their heads. Khmer government should make those words as an illegal at school or at home.
Khmer women in Cambodia this day are no good anymore. They are evils/butchers. My Mom's friend went back to buy a land and built home (big one), and let her cousin to live and take care of her property. When my Mom's friend informed her cousin that she will soon come to live in Cambodia with her elderly mother, her cousin threatened her "dig your grave first if you dare...".
Not even that she even lost her husband who went along visiting Cambodia. First her husband refused to go to Cambodia, but my Mom's friend kept insisting her White American husband to go along, then...he is gone with a Khmer woman, and he has kept hiding himself for a few years now.
He found a job and was grabbed by the Khmer nasty woman.
My Mom's friend lost the whole property she bought and lost her American (White) husband to the nasty Khmer woman.
They are really bad, have no mercy, and they are low class women just like this woman Sreynuch.
