Golden memories . . .

Kong Kum Kong Keo - Sinn Sisamouth

Phoup dael kmean snae by Sinn Sisamouth

Sinn Sisamouth

Veacha Nak Sneaha Cheat

In this column last week some readers reminisced nostalgically about Kampong Chhnang province [or was it someplace else?]. So here's a song about the province's most famous landmark! And although it's not politically significant or correct, it's fair to say it's the only place in the country known to School of Vice by heart! - for some mysterious reason . . .
Phno Neang Kong Rey - Ros Sereysothea

So Saveoun
Poum Phnom Toem - Ros Sereysothea

“What would it be like to have not only colour vision but culture vision, the ability to see the multiple worlds of others?”

“You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.
       -Ray Bradbury

“Without culture, and the relative freedom it implies, society, even when perfect, is but a jungle. This is why any authentic creation is a gift to the future.
          -Albert Camus

“You can't walk alone. Many have given the illusion but none have really walked alone. Man is not made that way. Each man is bedded in his people, their history, their culture, and their values.”
          -Peter Abrahams

I was born in Khum Svay Srok Kompong Tralach, Kompong Chhnang. I took exam (concours) to attend 7th grade (classe de six or sixieme) at Lycee Suramarith. I attend EMK (EOA at Ecole Militaire Khmer) in Kompong Chhnang.
Even I finished my High School at Lycee Sisowath and attended Facultee de Science in Phnom Penh, Kompong Chhnang is always on my mind. I am always missing Kompong Chhang. I had a lot of souvenirs with many old friends there. I have not met people/friend from Kompong Chhnang yet for the last 33 years.

MP3 Player

Khmer born older generation live long time outside the country heard most every the kind of modern music withou the real meaning or memory for something.
Why we now love the oldest Khmer music, because the olde Khmer music explained and bring back a lot of long time romantically memory, the daily life of our people and the value of our culture and poeytry.
