The strange things were those Indian men who sought Nirvana became Buddhas were known to be wealthy or royal members, and this last one was the only one son of the King. He did not have to worry going from house to house to beg for food, there're always food brought for Him. All He did was siting down closing both eyes and meditating.
Today economy is so bad, people are so poor hardly feed themselves so monks have to make money through everything they can find.
Buddhism is the religion for people who seek Nirvana. Not worrying about anything besides "Meditating, Begging for food, and back to do the meditation again.
It would be great if Monks plant their own vegetable and grow nut to eat instead of being dependable on other people whose lives are beyond repair (too poor).
Buddhism is for the rich people but for the poor. Poor monks rely on other people? That is bad. If the monks can grow fruits, nut and vegetable then, they will not face corruption.
