Is Mr. Pretty Ma closing his eyes accepting the approx. 2 millions of Khmer inhabitants's death as Sihanouk's misdeed when he is saying such things as "me included, regardless..." and "He will always be a part of me and my nation's history, no matter what."...???
I think Mr. Pretty Ma has some explaining to do since he is now holding an important spot in the CNRP...

Can some one please help me to understand why Khmer should care about ex-king Sihanouk's death. Forgive me for being incensitive asking such question during time of mourning for a death of a man. With my limitted education in Khmer history, I think Sihanouk deserve 90% blames for Khmer's atrocity and suffering from Khmer rough to Youn invasion era 1979. Sihanouk may or may not love his country, but his actions reveal again and again to serve his own agenda. His unwise decisions including cooperative with Ho Chi Mihn against the US, working with the Khmer Rough in the 70's as well as being an accomplice with the CPP in the present time. As the result of all of these bad decisions, Khmer people suffering unparalled in human history. For these reasons, Sihanouk's death should be a hope rather than a tragedy for the Khmer people.

Sihanouk but the ex-king should be
fairly 25% blamed and 75% praised.
Cambodia -if compared to human-
is very ill long before Sihanouk came to leadership. Dr.Norodom Sihanouk tried so hard to cure the
chronically ill Cambodia. But the powerful disease- the Vietnam ambition of expansion- is so great that the little single Dr.Sihanouk cannot cure. Many Khmer keep saying, blaming Sihanouk but not trying to know what had happened to Cambodia before Sihanouk reign.

3:24 am, I do agree with you that our neighboring countries have always been part of a disease for Cambodia, but we can not keep using that excuse for our leaders poor leadership ability like Sihanouk. Throughout history Khmer leaders always seek assistance from its neighboring countries to fight with each other and Sihanouk done plenty of it. Because of his ego and vengeance, Sihanouk was willing to destroy his country as long as Lon Nol out of power back in 75. At the present time, the CPP can do no wrong as long as Monarchy is not abolish for his son to remain a King. For these reasons, I have no respect for Sihanouk. He had his chance to save Cambodia but he choose to look out for his benefit not for the Cambodian people; therefore, people need to stop dripping tears for him.
Burn his body over there (China). Don't bring back to Cambodia. He was a Traitor to Khmer people. The Khmer people have suffered enough by him. He did not respect even his own mother. He was an evil king . He should be alive until he can serve his punishment in the Khmer Rouge trail. Please don't forget he was the person who killed Lok Protean Sam Rainsy's father.
