Koh Pays Last Respects To Norodom Sihanouk Of Cambodia [-King Sihanouk has another brother?]

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 24 (Bernama) -- Representing the Malaysian Government, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon today paid his last respects to former Cambodian king, Norodom Sihanouk, in Phnom Penh.

Sihanouk, 89, died in Beijing last Monday, following a heart attack.

Koh was greeted upon arrival at the Royal Palace by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hor Namhong, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Royal Palace, Kong Sam Ol.

Koh conveyed his condolences to Sihanouk's brother, Norodom Preya Sophon, and laid a wreath as a final respect to the former king whose body was lying in state at the palace, according to a foreign ministry statement here.

In his message, the minister described Sihanouk as a charismatic leader who brought independence and prosperity to Cambodia, and was an influential leader in strengthening bilateral relations between Malaysia and Cambodia.

Norodom Preya Sophon is Norodom Sihanouk's Half Brother
