Cambodia denies "interfering" in Radio Free Asia
Radio Free Asia has accused the Cambodian Government of attempting to intimidate the organisation and dictate the way it reports.

Representatives of RFA were called to a meeting with Cambodian Government officials who allege unfair coverage.
"The meeting was nothing more than a blatant attempt to discourage objective reporting on the government," John A. Estrella, the group's vice president for communications and government relations, told Radio Australia.
"The Cambodian government clearly does not understand the principles of a free press or the important role of independent media if it thinks it can intimidate RFA and dictate what we can or cannot report on," Mr Estrella said.
Emphatic denial
Phay Siphan, spokesman for the Cambodian government's Council of Ministers, told the Connect Asia program that there had been a "misunderstanding" and denied they were trying to manipulate RFA.
"We don't touch anything else, (we ask) just to watch the language, respect local qualities and local cultures," he said.
The meeting with Radio Free Asia comes ahead of national elections in 2013, which will see the entrenched Cambodian People's Party challenged by a newly-merged opposition coalition, the Cambodia National Rescue Party.
However, Mr Siphan said the issue of elections was not discussed at the talks.
Independent voices
RFA is one of the few sources of independent news in Cambodia's mostly politically-aligned media.
It broadcasts Khmer-language programs on Beehive Radio, along with Voice of America, while Radio Australia broadcasts in English and Khmer on 101.5FM in the major urban centres of Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville.
Earlier this month, Mam Sonando, the owner of Beehive Radio was sentenced to 20 years prison for inciting rebellion.
The watchdog Amnesty International has described the charges as politically-motivated and "outrageous".

In Cambodia, Hun Sen can say all kind of stupid things and there not a single person or news outlets ever dare to question or scrutinize what he has said.

1. Don't report any dirty speeches from Hun Sen, because in Cambodia, we honor potty mouth shameless leaders.
2. Don't report on human rights abuse, because in Cambodia, we believe denying human rights is the norm
3. Don't report on journalist murderings, because in Cambodia, the local rulers must have the right to assassinate any journalist
4. Don't report on environmental and land concessions, because in Cambodia, selling national heritage to foreign firms is a matter of national security - hush hush, to be shared only with the foreign firms.
5. Don't report on land evictions, because in Cambodia, land eviction is custom that must be respected

CPP has a lot of dirty money, they can pay top price for spokepersons and advisors; however, they have problem attracting the intelligent and capable people because their thuggish and raw communist style will definitely clash with the intelligence and logics of those capable people.
So, they have to make do with losers from overseas to be spokepersons, or advisors/strategists who supposedly knew how to deal with foreign and international governments and organizations. It has proved the investment is futile and wasteful since so far they didn't gain much respect or sympathy from the services of those like Pai Seepan, Remee, or their likes.
Who want to work for the CPP thugs anyway, even if you pay us 1 million, we still wouldn't do it. I mean at the end of the day, do you want to go heaven or hell. Money is not everything you know, but doing the right thing is everything. But sadly, in Cambodia, people do not have high value for human dignity, pride and previledge to be born, really.
Here are the facts about that Phay Siphan. In Long Beach California, this dude used to work at a Buddhist temple collecting funds and defrauding god-fearing Cambodian elderly. After pocketing lots of dollars, then Phay Siphan disappeared and after bribing Hun Sen with hundreds of thousands of dollars for a position in the Hun Sen government, he got appointed as the spokeperson with the so-called English speaking ability. However, Phay Siphan was smart enough to obtain his naturalized American citizenship while he was in the U.S. in case his azz gets kicked out from Cambodia he still has a second place to go to. A closer look at Phay Siphan's family shows that none of them is a contributor to the society. Phay Siphan himself can never ever find a job in America with his lowly poorly English skills. His English pronunciation is a mess. His English vocabulary is very limited. His English grammar is simply horrible. This Phay Siphan dude has got to go. I wonder if Phay Siphan goes to the American Embassy to pay his taxes for his American freedom. I don't think so though because this guy is all about raking in more and more money for his own disgusting habits as a con man.
