Lao Mong Hay maybe right. Right now we can't even protect our present Cambodia from Vietnam influence let alone defending it. Before we try to take back Koh Tral and Kampuchea Krom from Vietnam we should try to disassociate ourselves from Vietnam first. We cannot even control our borders. Viets come to live freely in Cambodia. In Cambodia, Viets controlled everything from government to National Assembly, the Army, and we don't know how many Viets soldiers are hiding among Viet civilians ready to protect their interests if threatened. The way the Viets tighten their grip in Cambodia now I see no chance for liberation, unless we, Khmer, are united and dare to so sacrifice our life for it, however, the possibility is very remote as Khmers were known to be divided since Angkor period. And this why Khmers are weaker and weaker in the eyes of our neighbors. Lao Mong Hay opinion worth consideration. Viets will not give up Kampuchea Krom and Koh Tral easily without fight. With we, Khmers, with smaller country and weaker militarily, economically, mentally the chance of liberating ourselves from Viets are impossible to none. After all khmer mentallity cannot be compared to Israel nor Palestinians who dare to die for their countries and their causes.
