yes, monks in today's Cambodian society are parasites. they only suck from the Cambodian society. they perform no societal work or community service. they don't even do their monks' duties properly. I personally know of a couple of middle age Khmer men who gave up their personally responsibilities. when people ask them why don't they use their skill/expertise to do work and make money or save/invest some their money? they responded that they don't care. when they just go into monkhood and live in the temple when they are hungry, desperate, lonely, and homeless.
people like that had already sold their souls to the devil.

Ce qu'on te reproche est le fait que tu fais dépenser des sommes colossales au peuble pour rien, au détriment de sa vie familiale qui est déjà très misérable. Si c'est uniquement pour ta bouffe ça peut aller. Ce que tu as raconté n'a aucun sens. En réalité on n'a pas besoin de ton éducation pour mieux vivre.

I am also Buddhist but i believe that khmer monks now a day are so materialistic. they totally forget what they have to follow in Buddha's teaching. now they care more about learning english and having new
i-phone.I now lose respect in most khmer monks in Cambodia and in the States.

Khmer monks this day do/did not serve society as Buddha period; they practice out of Buddhism context. Nowadays monk like Tap Vang did/do nothing compare to Monk Chou Nat, this day the monk have luxury car, new model mobile phone, I-pat, computers, camera video, camera, and their bedroom they have personal TV, Blu-ray , they slept in comfortable bed, they provide service for fee such as pour water for bless. They serve dinner at night such as Hungry Jack burger, watch porn and spy on girl, sometime committed crime, monks this day play politic by take side with powerful minority, ignore social responsibility and bias toward rich and powerful, they took money from honest donation for their personal use and for their nepotism, they only take but never give.

Their behaviour above has let Christianity and Islamist to florist in Cambodia because Christianity and Islamist have shown Cambodian that they come to give not to take. In contrast monks never learn their lesson from the past but keep continuous walking through to the wrong path. If you look at some wealthy pagodas you can see it look like royal palace and with all luxury means but by contrast you can see poor villages and poor infrastructure surround. They supposed to be a role model for defence our national and sovereignty but instead they silently support authority to crack down on someone who dares to oppose them.

Monk Tep Vong did not achieve anything for Cambodia in term of his intellectual capacity he did not has create anything for Khmer younger generation except he will leave his bad legacy images for younger Khmer. Unlike honourable Choun Nath, Hout Tad, Hem Chea, Krom Nguy, Pou Kambour the left a lots of good legacy for Cambodia such created Khmer dictionary, against French colonist… you name it.
