I have mo more tears left...I am numb...You can't make me cry no more (double negative!)...you know why? My great great grand parents, my parents, my families were all born, raised and brought up down there at the foot of that mountain named: SANTUK! You know what the name of that village that leads up to that so-called stairway as you put it?

P.s. And you know what happened to almost all of them (my families and relatives et al...)? They have been massacred by the Viet-engineered Killing Fields!!!

I had been to this historical site once some years back, and while there I couldn't help remembering this famous song and singing it in my head.

During the Pol Pot regime, I had worked on this mountain for about 6 months. There were 7 persons who worked there to break mountain rocks. My first memory there, it was my thumb was crushed between the rock and the tractor wheel...It was so crazy to belong the regional mobile #43. There was a lot of killing up there.
