និរាស នគរវត្ត - Nireas Nokorwat

In 1921, King Sisowath, accompanied by a large retinue of French officials, visited Angkor Wat temple. Among the court mandarins who traveled with the King was an appointed royal poet by the name of In (short for Indra) (ឧកញ៉ាសុត្តន្តប្រីជា ឥន្ទ). The poet was a prolific author in his time, he was also the author of the multi-volume book Katek Lok (គតិលោក) which provided short moral stories. On his journey with the King, Poet In wrote the following verses which provide a vivid description of the King's pilgrimage to Angkor Wat. We hope you will enjoy reading it.
