Vietnamese still Cambodia’s strongest market

Cambodia’s tourism arrivals jumped more than 24 percent during the first ten months 2012, with more than 2.86 million international visitors.

A tourism ministry update reported Vietnam as the country’s number one largest source of foreign visitors, with 638,560 tourists followed by South Korea and China, the China Daily reported.

Neighbours from Laos and Thailand ranked fourth and fifth largest markets, both up 90 and 75 percent over the same ten months the prior year.

Of the visitors, more than 1.64 million visited Angkor Wat Temple, up 28 percent over the same period 2011, while Preah Vihear Temple attracted 84 percent more tourists.

Vietnamese come to visit? Did the Tourism Ministry keep records of their Arrival/departure? Due to lag in Immigration practice in regard to Vietnamese, I bet most of them come and never go back to Vietnam.
