Denso Corp. said Jan. 23 it will establish a company in Cambodia to enhance its production and supply framework in Southeast Asia.
Denso Cambodia Co., which is scheduled to open in July, will produce sensor components for ignition magnetos and gradually produce other products for the region, Denso said.
"To support the increasing production of motorcycles and automobiles in the ASEAN region, we've decided to establish a production company in Cambodia,” said Sojiro Tsuchiya, Denso’s executive vice president responsible for the Asia and Oceania region.
In Asia and Oceania, Denso employs more than 31,000 people with consolidated sales totaling $7.6 billion (about 670 billion yen) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012. In the ASEAN region, Denso has operations in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam.
