[Thai] Senator urges [Thai] Govt to show clear stance on Thai-Cambodian conflict

BANGKOK, 8 January 2013 (NNT) - Senator Somchai Sawangkarn has urged the Prime Minister to consider a move toward resolving the tension over the Thai-Cambodian border as 80 armed Cambodian soldiers have been reportedly deployed to areas near Surin province.

Speaking to the senate meeting today,Mr Somchai, in his capacity as member of the foreign affairs committee, said the appearance of armed soldiers posed a threat to the lives of residents living along the border. The Cambodian troops were said to have been sighted on Monday walking to Plod-tang and Krating-long border points opposite Kab Choeng district, Surin province.

He went on to say that the government must declare its stance given the current scenario, adding that whatever the government approach is, it must be for the benefit of the nation.

The Senator also urged the government to take advantage of Thailand’s good relations with Cambodia in seeking an effective solution to the demarcation feud and to preserve the ownership rights to the disputed land.

Yes! Thailand, as you have stated to preserve the ownership rights to the dispute land, you should know the fact that the land near Preah Vihear temple is belonged to Khmer.

My Khmer brother not only land around Preah Vihear is Cambodia but also Surin, Buriram, Arangprathet, Sisaket, Bankok, Trat, KOH KHUT island, and others in the northeastern Thailand were all Khmer's provinces stolen from us because of their cleverness, dirty trickery, betrayal, Khmers traitors who side with Ayutha. Now modern day we can only try to maintain 1907 Franco-Siam treaties and they don't even respect that. Thai and Viets really want is to make sure Cambodia disappear like Kingdom of Champa. Thanks god we still have brave Khmer soldiers at the borders to make Siam take over plans hard to swallow. It's like big chicken bones stuck in their throats. This is 21st century Siam and Viets will not be able to do like they did in the past.
