General Dien Del , like Gen Thach Reng, had done more good deeds for his country than many of you who badmouth him.

He was no thief like some of you claim. There were bad elements in his army, but it doesn't mean he did it. Nearly all CPP generals blatantly committed crimes and treason, but Gen Del was no where near these traitors. He was no Hing Bung Heang, no Hok Lundy, no Sao Sokha, No Mol Roeup, and the likes.

May he rest in peace. He had live a long life. He was hero, no doubt.

May you rest in peace, General Dien Del!

Having said that, he was just a typical Khmer army officer under Sihanouk era and that of Lon Nol except maybe not the coward one as compared to several others of his contemporary. To simply put, he took advantage of the systems during that time but carried his duty as a courageous fighter unlike several others of his times e.g the Fernandez, the rotten ones! He was a bit on the conceited/condescending, rude and arrogant at times but maybe that what a khmer army officer is all about...And, yes he had a few concubines...just like the rest of the officers of his rank and file...I just grinned trying to look away when writing all of that down...Again, please rest in peace, Genral D. Del, and if there is reincarnation, please be coming back as Khmer again!!!

He was the poorest general at his time, because of his honesty and when he moved to US in 1975 he even ended up work for his subordinate who owned the gas station. Please do not insult him, even among US officials and US army General Dien Del was known as a most effective and honest in the Lon Nol regime, Phoum Koki Thom Song by S.Samouth was one of the song dedicated to his 24th Battalion and 2nd infantry brigade success in killing and captured lots of VietCong in the early day of war with them. General Dien Del is surely RIP!

In 1983, once the previous newly form of off spring branched out from the old KPNLF under Gen Sak SuSakorn with Cheif of Staff Den Deil, Thee was shaken up internally within rank and file of KPNLF and cracked of the unity between people migrated from USA to join the KPNLP and old time foot fighters. Son San was leading another faction with comprised several Camps including Comdr. Chea Chut of Nang Chan and Two other main Comdrs. Chhun Chheang happend to be in a neutral between two rival factions. Several gun skirmished were exhanged after one of top Sonn san Comdr was assasinated at night time along with his bodyguards on the way back to Ampil Camp after he left Nang Sammit Camp. One faction accussed Gen. Den Diel of using heavy hand tactic to wipe out the opponent. In 1986, there was sign of improvement of communication between the two as the news of Peace Negotiation came to light.

No one talking about Gen. Pan Thy, during KPNLP Gen. Pan Thy was the 3rd commander after Gen. Sok Set Sakcon and Gen. Den Diel. The three of them born to be a soldier, they been fighting for our country since young age. They been promoted to be Generals by Cambodian people, different from all those Gen. right now. We pay respects to the three Generals, Gen. Del Diel and SokSet Sakcon passed away, anyone have some idea where is Gen. Pan Thy where about?

12:52 AM,

Sak Sutsakhan, and not what you wrote up there!!!

They been promoted to be Generals by Cambodian people?

Not true/correct, if you knew what's really going on at that time...

I leave it at that!!!

As far as I am concern, all of the former Lon Nol gen. cannot be trusted.
They were just wasting US tax payer money.
They never been called by the US Gov. to represent Cambodia at any level.

Pan Thai sold his head off to the CPP in 1993 before Untac election. He defected to serve Hun Sen, leaving his faithful soldiers behind. He is still with CPP to these days. He cared only about his interests.
