On February 13, 2013, one of Cambodia's leading military figures, General Dien Del, passed away. His death is a loss to Khmer freedom fighters. I shall miss him.
I knew General Dien Del and worked with him in the Khmer People's National Liberation Armed Forces from 1980 to 1989 in various circumstances.
I invite you to review my new slideshow, A Tribute to General Dien Del-2 at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ton1CXRAUF4
I feel most fortunate to have known the man, and to have worked with him in good and bad times.
I hope you enjoy the slideshow.
Sincerely,
Dr. Gaffar Peang-Meth
Former Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief

Based on the particular song, it was created in the camp, Kao I Dang, Thai and Khmer boder. I previouselly heard this song, it is good song and means a lot.
Don't know why Mr. Son San's faction completely faded into irrelevant in Cambodian politics.
It was a good faction. I was a young boy at the time but had a great admiration for the men and women served at Ampil base.
Not only after 1979 but between 1970-75, General Dien Del was a famous General too. As Khmer I have full respect to him. Please your soul stay in peace.
General Dien Del was a real Khmer Hero.
Beacause he is Khmer Krom, he always fought against VN invasions, the act that had been appreciated by the ruling party CPP.
"Generals and Soldiers never died, they just faded away ! "
Bravo ! General Dien Del !
Thanks to Mrs. Koy Sarim who sang the song.
