Everyone has an opinion and blame games toward our ex. King. It has been time to build Cambodia stronger. Lets look about Cambodia future and its way to moving forward otherwise would be so many reasons that courses Cambodia ship sunk. lets stands as one Cambodia united. Cambodia has a bright future but must be working hard.

The author has many factual erros. Claiming many of those as republicans were wrong. I know most he mentioned were royalist.

He shed more light into the royalist movement but his opinions and interpretations were also wrong at many points.

Stop blaming King Sihanouk. It is more complex than you think. Here is the information I got from the IndoChina Database and Cambodia: A Country Study. The King did his very best to keep Cambodia out of the American-Vietnamese War, but still got dragged into it. Blame the South Vietnamese, the North Vietnamese, the Americans, and the Thais. These people did not give Cambodia any peace at all. They always had their own secret agendas to protect their interests. The South Vietnamese government was the most despicable of them all. What was Sihanouk to do. The American writers and some confused Cambodia losers keep saying that King Sihanouk sided with the Khmer Rouge and that was why the Khmer Rouge was able to take over Cambodia. That is simply retarded comments and bullshit! Whether with or without Sihanouk, the Lon Nol regime would collapse already. The North Vietnamese already defeated those losers and captured over half of Cambodia. The Americans based on various documents simply had no respect for the Lon Nol's corrupt forces and losers. In fact the Lon Nol regime was so incompetent that Lon Nol himself RESIGNED and said bye before the war was over. In fact, when Lon Nol resigned, even the Americans tried their hardest to create a deal to bring back Sihanouk to Cambodia, but it was already too late because by then Pol Pot said, f*ck you America!

1953 – Cambodia became independent. In the same year, Thai moved into to occupy the area of Preah Vihear Temple

1954 – Viet Minh forces invaded Cambodia

1958 - The South Vietnamese invaded the Cambodian Stung Treng Province

Part 2 - continued from Part 1
1960’s – South Vietnam closed the Mekong to the Cambodian boats. South Vietnamese troops transplanted themselves inside Cambodia. King Sihanouk reacted by allowing the Communist North Vietnamese presence in Cambodia to counter the South Vietnamese forces.

1960’s – In reaction, the South Vietnamese and Thailand, as well as the USA started supporting the Khmer Serei (KS) - or "Free Khmer". The US troops also became involved in the war in Cambodia: in a series of operations known under the code-name "Daniel Boone" the US and South Vietnamese special units were infiltrated into Cambodia.

1960’s (1964) Preah Vihear area became a combat zone between Cambodia and Thailand.

1960’s (1965) – Cambodia’s air force engaged a group of Thai Skyraiders over the town of Pailin.

1960’s – In retaliation, Sihanouk announced that he would get military supplies from the USSR and ordered the US military assistance delegation to leave Cambodia on January 1, 1964.

1960’s – The South Vietnamese Air Force several times attacked Cambodia. Cambodia’s Air Force reacted and became involved in several serious incidents with the South Vietnamese.

1960’s – The South Vietnamese government
sent several flights of Skyraiders deep inside Cambodia to seek revenge. Two Skyraiders even reached the Phnom Penh suburbs before turning away.

1960’s (1968) - Another serious incident occurred between Khmer Navy and South Vietnamese vessels in the Gulf of Siam.

1960’s (In late 1968) – Sihanouk permitted the USA to use its air power inside the Cambodian airspace. Unfortunately, the American B-52 operations instead of causing the destruction of the North Vietnamese, it caused the Cambodian civilians to suffer instead.

1970’s (1970) - Prime Minister Gen. Lon Nol staged an Army coup while Sihanouk was back in Moscow to agree deliveries of additional arms.

1970’s – Lon Nol troops clashed with the powerful alliance between the North Vietnamese and the Khmer Rouge.

1970’s – The USA invasion of Cambodia: The combined US-South Vietnamese invading forces of some 42.000 Americans and 48.000 South Vietnamese advanced inside the Cambodian territory.

1970’s - The US public reacted on the news about the invasion of Cambodia with an outcry, and President Nixon was finally forced to order a pull-out of all US troops by 29 June.

1970’s – The South Vietnamese Invasion of Cambodia: In December 1970, South Vietnamese launched operation “Eagle Jump” into Cambodia to reoccupy the airfield Kompong Cham. From 1970 to 1972, South Vietnam continued to launch a series of incursion inside Cambodia. The last South Vietnamese incursion occured in 1974 in the Parrot Beak Area.

1970’s – Lon Nols Army was hard-pressed everywhere and the Communist forces had already seized more than half of Cambodia territory.

1970’s - The North Vietnamese army turned on Lon Nol’s forces and defeated them. The North Vietnamese turned the newly won territories over to their Communist comrades the Khmer Rouge.

Part 3 - Cotinued from Part 2

1970’s (1973) - United States bombing of enemy troop dispositions in Cambodia-- particularly in the summer of 1973, when intense aerial bombardment (known as Arclight) was used to halt a Khmer Rouge assault on Phnom Penh--bought time for the Lon Nol government, but did not stem the momentum of the communist forces. Many of the fell over some of the most densely inhabited areas of the country, such as Siemreab Province, Kampong Chhnang Province, and the countryside around Phnom Penh. Deaths from the bombing are extremely difficult to estimate, and figures range from a low of 30,000 to a high of 500,000. Whatever the real extent of the casualties, the Arclight missions over Cambodia, which were halted in August 15, 1973, by the United States Congress, delivered shattering blows to the structure of life in many of the country's villages, and, according to some critics, drove the Cambodian people into the arms of the Khmer Rouge.

1970’s (1975) - The Khmer Rouge initiated their dry-season offensive to capture the beleaguered Cambodian capital on January 1, 1975.

1970’s - On April 1, 1975, President Lon Nol resigned and left the country. Saukham Khoy became acting president of a government that had less than three weeks to live. Last-minute efforts on the part of the United States to arrange a peace agreement involving Sihanouk ended in failure. On April 12, United States embassy personnel were evacuated by helicopter.

1975, April 17 - Khmer Rouge units entered Phnom Penh victoriously.

Khemrin, why did you not post this when the King-Father was still alive? Why just post it after he passed away already? If you had posted it before the King-Father passed away, I would have taken your comments into consideration. But because you posted it after he had passed away like this, I will just judged automatically that you are the one who is really bad and cheap and who is cheating Cambodian people.

Grand merci !
