Man-Made Destiny by Ven. Hoeurn Somnieng

MAN MADE DESTINY---

Today, the whole nation is mourning to farewell H.M, King Father, Norodom Sihanouk. Cambodians are in deep pain and sadness for this great loss-!!!

I am also sad, not much of the loss, but the wasteful and foolish life of myself and my beloved brothers and sisters of Cambodia--!!! Only when it gone, we realized how value it was, simultaneously, it is already too late.

“Even death is not to be feared by one who has lived wisely", the Buddha said.

I think it is not about the death, but it is about the living, how to live wisely and productively. If we ask ourselves some of these questions: what are we living for? what is the meaning of life? what do we want to be remembered at the end? who do we want to be remembered us after we gone? And how do we want to be remembered?

Individually, what do we learn from the life of our dearest H.M, Norodom Sihanouk? Collectively, what do our political leaders and the nation learn about him and his life?

In conclusion, I am quoting the lord Buddha's words again "no one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path"---.

May we live wisely, mindfully, meaningfully, and productively--!!

May H.M, Norodom Sihanouk rest in peace--!!!

Thanks

Very good Somnieng. I wish someone would write this in Khmer newspapers, so that your words can permeate Cambodian leaders, specifically HUN SEN, and people to understand a little more about meaning of life, living and the legacy of lives. After all, we are just here for short time and we will die but what do we want to leave behind???

It's not so much how much a person will leave behind but how much will a person gain in dying.

Jesus said it this way: "What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and losses his own soul?"

"In conclusion, I am quoting the lord Buddha's words again "no one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path"---."

This is the Lie of Satan, using Buddha to deceive people by his wisdom. If man didn't need saving than Jesus would not need to suffer the worst death by human being. In dying Jesus gain power over the deception of Satan.

I'm glad that God hath redeemed me by the shedding blood of Jesus to save me from eternal death.
