Lodge complain to ICJ is wasting a lot of money and times. If Cambodia joins development of Preah Vibear with Thailand, there will be no dispute with Thailand. Although Preah Vihear is belong to Cambodia but the main entrance is in Thailand's side and the main tourists also come from Thailand too. We are Khmer shall remember that when we ran away from Communist during 1980s Thailand had offered shelter to Khmer people. Thus, joint development of Preah Vibear with Thailand will bring peace and prosperity to both countries.

How big can a vicinity or district or neighborhood be?

Now back to the Thais. They say that the area 4.6 square kilometers surrounding the temple ground is not considered the "vicinity" of the temple. If a mere vicinity of a city's district in the USA covers 7.8 square kilometers, then of course the 4.6 square kilometers is considered the vicinity of the Preah Temple ground area. By the way, 4.6km² = 1.7761mi².

While the Siamese called the Khmer as the uncivilized jungle Khmer, the Youns called the Khmer as uncivilized barbarians. In your case you enjoy being identified with the Thai and so you shall be. There are countless of Khmer people who have already identified themselves as "Thais" many generations ago already. Look at the peoples in Koh Kong Province. Do you think they call themselves as Khmer? No, even their names they adopted them from the Thai sounding names. When interviewed, they said that while they are in Cambodia legally, but their hearts are with Thailand.
As for me, I continue to honor my honorable Khmer spirit of old and present. I say no to both Thailand and Vietnam. I choose to be my Khmer self and I choose to be with Cambodia. You should be dressing up and go defend the Thais in the world court as of now. You think the Thais will keep the Khmer cultural heritages for you? No in fact they teach their children that the Khmer are simply new people arising from the Thais people and practicing the Thai cultural heritages and customs instead. The Youns teach their children that the Khmer were the biggest invaders of Southeast Asia and claiming the territory of Funan as their own. Don't get me started with the Lao either. The true god of Cambodia at the time was Hinduism, its principles were based on the same as Jesus's principles of teaching e.g. no kill, no steal, no abuse, no lie, but love and live to serve one another but sadly, khmers turn against its original principles and decided to adopt a new buddhism's principles instead, where men no longer live to serve one another but to be as lazy as men can be. They did not have balance of power and duty which led to its downfall.
