This is the vision when
Cambodians currently read.
NO
ONE can be made to enjoy reading if the mangled language frustrates and
confuses them, giving them headaches from the burden and work of having
to decipher and fight the printed page before they can get to the
content.
And here, the content is another layer of morass because of the messy or incorrect translation.
And
the above-mentioned barriers of reading haven't even factor in the deep
trauma and social living conditions which inhibit reading...
This is the vision when Cambodians read with punctuation
(as a consequence, use of punctuation automatically allows for more word spacing)
I
deeply believe EVERY CAMBODIAN can be habituated to love to read if
given INTERESTING reading materials, and WHEN THE LANGUAGE is cleaned up
with correct, clear translation (if translated, which currently the
majority of published materials are) AND with PROPER, CONSISTENT,
SUFFICIENT PUNCTUATION.
Use punctuation so your mindcan see with 20/20 vision.

I don't know what the differences between the Khmer language now and the Khmer language before when I was a student 40 years ago. back then the language was fine-nothing wrong with it. languages can be different. they always have contextual meaning. Arabic, Chinese and Japanese, for example, have no clear punctuation either. I think it is hard for adult to learn a new language. I believe that Khmer is a second language to ms. theary seng.

Theary darlin'
Seven makara's Khmer ways of writing confused you or you need to learn more Khmer's language? ESL-teacher points out that Khmer's language is your second language in writing so you need to learn more, what is easy for you, its hard for others,if you want to change any languages you must be mastered of that languages ,in order to change it.But you didn't mastered in Khmer's language yet and you want to change it to fit your own need it won't work.
An old saying stated that "If its not broken, don't fix it" Theary darling, i can see that you tried very hard to change by using Puntuations as western or english language but you alone can't change anything, especially, the language that you want to change is the one you are not good at....
*****/Nice tries darling*****

Theary Dear,
You still didn't get it !
It's about time for you to engrave a punctuation between your head and your brain.
Sick & Tired
Dear Theary,
I think, you are better stick to what you are good at. You thearyseng again. How much you understand about Khmer language? Did you know that this language has been used to build Angkor? What you said is full of contempt that the current Khmer puctuation is blur or are you blur?
Concerned
First of all, thanks to Theary for bringing the subject to discussion. Learning a new language is not easy. The differences between leaning and acquiring a language are: learning is not natural; while acquiring is. Learning is about rules and grammar. Acquiring is what one hears, sees, feels and it's there because it's there. Language acquisition happens since birth and it's becomes natural. Learning a language as an adult is never becomes fluent. That's why adults have accent no matter how long they learn a second language. A person younger than 12 years old doesn't have accent while acquiring a second language.
So learning and acquiring a language is different. In Theary's case, I believe, Khmer is her second language. I think that learned the language when she went to Cambodia. so her Khmer language acquisition can't be fully proficient.
I studied the Chinese language or Mandarin back in the days because my dad said that I should study the language since I am partly of the Chinese stock. (Lol). I don't ever remember the Chinese language having any punctuation marks at all and yet the Chinese are still the "avid" readers of their national printed texts. As for that Chinese language class, I dropped it as soon as the Chinese told me that my last name is actually of the Mongol peoples who invaded China back in the days. He didn't like me and so I left him in peace since I wanted the Chinese Teacher Dude to continue feeling superior forever more. Lol After dropping that Chinese language class, I never looked back and in fact have continued to become closer than ever before to my natural Khmer language instead.
Theary,
Don't you worry to much about Puntuations marks in Khmer's language they have been using the language for millennium they didn't hsvr any problems at all.So if using Puntuations marks make people like to read like you said that is a good thing, but i don't think that is the case, the truth is school in Cambodia is bad didn't pay teacher enough to teach,i meant govt of Cambodia.
Theary, i will teach Khmer ways of writing old school because i knew how to make you see clear without using Puntuations marks.I am qualify to teach you in Khmer because i've been teaching foreigners students in Thailand for many years while back.My students were Australian,American,Siamese,France etc. Therefore, teaching you (Theary) not a problem.
