Repeating his country’s call for a transparent investigation into irregularities during the July 28 national election, the U.S. ambassador to Cambodia has urged the government to repair deficiencies in the electoral process.
While some foreign governments have issued congratulatory messages to Prime Minister Hun Sen and the CPP after they immediately declared victory, the U.S. has yet to do so.
Rainsy Rally Takes to Boats, Motos After Bridge Closure
By Simon Lewis - August 5, 2013 The Cambodia Daily
Opposition leader Sam Rainsy on Sunday accused CPP activists in Kandal province of dismantling a wooden bridge on Saturday in an ultimately unsuccessful bid to keep him from reaching two scheduled public rallies in the area.
Mr. Rainsy, whose CNRP is disputing preliminary results from the July 28 national election, which have given the ruling CPP a win with 68 seats to the opposition’s 55, is visiting some of the provinces where the opposition made big gains on election day, and in preparation for possible protests.

I agree with American Ambassador
The US , the EU and the UN must stand on the side of justice and protect the will of the Cambodian people who have voted for change, for democracy and freedom.
I am concerned whether the us, eu and un will do best to ensure the truth of the election result. What will happen if the govt and nec do not follow their requirements. Any effective measures would be applied for? May be not? I wish our concerns will be responding soon. We do not have much time left by now. Who be the best leader beside hon samraingsy. I urge everyone to make our voice louder for our nation. Thanks
