Cambodian king urges opposition to join parliament

Cambodia's King Norodom Sihamoni, pictured on September 11, 2013, appealed to opposition lawmakers Wednesday to drop a planned boycott of parliament for the sake of "national unity" following strongman premier Hun Sen's disputed election win

AFP News – Sept 18 ,2013

Cambodia's king appealed to opposition lawmakers Wednesday to drop a planned boycott of parliament for the sake of "national unity" following strongman premier Hun Sen's disputed election win.

In a royal letter -- seen by AFP -- to 55 elected opposition lawmakers, King Norodom Sihamoni said he would preside over the first meeting of the lower house on Monday.

"I would like to invite his and her excellencies to attend the first meeting of the National Assembly in order to show national unification and unity," Sihamoni said.

Opposition officials could not be reached immediately for comment.

It is the first time that Sihamoni has intervened to resolve a political crisis since he took the throne in 2004. While he is the official head of state, he has no political power.

In the past his father, former King Norodom Sihanouk, actively intervened to resolve political deadlock, particularly after elections.

The royal message came a day after Cambodia's two main political parties said they were nearing an agreement to end a stalemate over controversial elections held in July.

Hun Sen, who has ruled for 28 years, held talks with opposition leader Sam Rainsy on Tuesday for a second straight day in the wake of violent clashes at the weekend in which one civilian was shot dead and several wounded.

On Monday Hun Sen and Rainsy, a French-educated former banker, agreed to heed the king's call for an end to the violence, to set up a mechanism to bring about election reform in the future and to continue negotiations, according to a joint statement that gave few details.

The two sides, however, remained at odds over the opposition's demand for the creation of an independent "truth committee" to investigate the disputed polls.

Rainsy's Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) has left open the possibility of further protests, after wrapping up three consecutive days of mass rallies in the capital on Tuesday.

The opposition has blamed the authorities for the death of a protester who was shot during a clash in Phnom Penh Sunday, on the fringes of a mass demonstration that drew an estimated 20,000 people demanding an independent probe into the vote.

International rights groups accused the security forces of firing live ammunition -- an allegation denied by the authorities.

Security forces fired smoke grenades, tear gas and water cannon at rock-throwing protesters.

Six men have been charged by Phnom Penh Municipal Court with intentional violence and destruction of public property for their alleged role in the clashes, according to rights activists

If you listen to the opposition leaders carefully, it is a done deal. After the first meeting between the opposition leaders and Cambodian People’s Party leaders on Monday, representatives from both parties provided a glimpse of what will happen next. The critical point was both parties agreed that they will continue the dialogue.

Although the drama continues where the opposition leaders promised not join the opening session of the new parliamentary on September 23, 2013 if there is no proper solution to the alleged vote fraud, the intention was unequivocal. The drama simply is there to delay the inevitability.

Here how Mr. Sam Rainsy and Mr. Kem Sokha signaled their intention without telling his supporters the whole story. According to Radio Free Asia’s Tuesday interview, Mr. Sam Rainsy stated that, “We must demand a balance of power…” Mr. Kem Sokha added that, “When we have the balance of power, the process will be smooth.”

The obvious question here, how does a balance of power occur without members of Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) are being part of the new government? The obvious answer here is that members of CNRP will have to be part of the new parliament.

Perspective:
Don’t let the loser dictates the tempo of the game

The CNRP is the winner. The winner must not let the loser dictates the pace of the game.

By agreeing to follow the "Preah Reach Damress Maha Ksath Leukeu Sihamoni" the CNRP has already partly made concession to the loser.

King Sihamoni follows Hun Sen’s order who is in turn followed Vietnam’s order. And how do you expect to liberate Cambodia from Vietnam when you follow its order ?

The traitor Hun Sen and his master Vietnam have been succeeded at diverting Khmer people attention from the nationwide demonstration to the "wait and see" the result of the negotiation. This is a "protracted war" tactic. The loser is the CNRP.

The momentum of the CNRP has gone down the drain. The CNRP must admit that it made a mistake by following Sihamoni’s suggestion, and it must make a quick adjustment and go back to the initial demand pertaining to the electoral fraud.
Make the demonstration until the loser concedes its defeat and transfer the power to you.
If the CNRP failed to capitalize this opportunity, it will be viewed by the people as incompetent, and the CNRP might subsequently slowly disintegrate because the CNRP’s decision to follow Preah Reach Damress Maha Ksath Leukeu Sihamoni has alienated so many people already.

I think this way:
After the election, the CPP knew that it had lost the election, so it wanted to use force to smash the CNRP. That’s why it let that King Ting Moung to go to China.

Later on, the CPP and its master the evil Vietnam found another way to kill the CNRP by using this dumb King to force the CNRP to negotiate, which Khmer people in the whole country have warned the CNRP not to do.

Our ultimate goal is to liberate Cambodia from the Khmer killer Vietnam.
(Notice that if the Khmer Rouge Tribunal were able to bring case 3 and 4, they will find out the killings during the Pol Pot era were mostly committed by the evil Vietnam).
Vietnam will not give up Cambodia unless there was a powerful force to push it out.
We need the international community’s intervention, but the International community needs a leverage to do so. It is imperative that the mass demonstration must go on until the CNRP gets the victory that the people have given it. If the CPP used force to suppress the mass demonstration, it would give the International community the necessary leverage to move in to help Cambodia

The CNRP should not take anything less than the victory. Khmer people have propelled you to the top, not the stupid King.

If the CNRP’s MPs convened in this 23rd September, that means the end of the CNRP.
DON’T DO IT.

If the CNRP wanted to remain strong, it must stay with the people and forget about this King Kong Sihamoni.

Bun Thoeun

PS: The NEC’s reform for 2018 will not mean anything because when the CNRP won in 2018, the CPP will not transfer the power. Don’t fall on this trick and accept the traitor Hun Sen as the winner in this 2013 election in exchange for NEC’s overhaul for 2018.

“Cambodian king urges opposition to join parliament”
The title is wrong, because it is not based on fact.
It should be written:
Hun Sen orders the Cambodian king to urge the opposition to join parliament.

Hope has faded away like a Spring Blossom in sunny days! Khmer Nation had always been undo by her incompetent and traicherous leaders... Chay yetha II, Sihanouk, Pol Pot, Hun Sen, and Siha-moni to name a few consecutive leaders in present days! Why give so much to Vietnam? Are Vietnameses smarter than Khmers? Specifically, are Vietnamese leaders smarter and more petriotic than Khmer leaders? Why is it too difficult for you, khmer leaders, to refrain from kicking yourselves in the butts?

"What will Cambodia's opposition do next?"

=Well...Cambodia's opposition must make decision to keep their promise for Cambodia people that the opposition demand a change! So far after the 3 days of meeting and it yield nothing beside having AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave to buy more times! Time is what Cambodian people don't have! The longer the protest and the longer Cambodian people will spent their own money! Some Cambodian people make great sacrifice travel from far away after selling their personal belongings and personal property to join the protest for a change! If I were there far away travelers and I can not imaging that after traveling from far away place and sacrifice everything to join the protest to demand change and go back home empty handed without achieving anything. I definitely will not heed the call for change again by any Cambodian leaders!

Now there is no change? As far as I am concerned the opposition party doesn't need to behave like a flock of sheep and so eager to have endless negotiation with AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave! What opposition party needs to do is to observe AH HUN SEN Vietcong's action and his words of mouth! If the action matches the word of mouth by AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave then the opposition can move on otherwise there is no need to have endless talk! In every meeting AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave is like a wolf and the wolf is observing the sheep in what part of the sheep the wolf will eat first! Whether the wolf want to eat the sheep head first, the body first, or the tail first and it doesn't really matter at this point because the sheep will be eaten by the wolf!

The opposition must keep their promise to bring "change" and Cambodian people are watching you! As Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha and they may have personal differences and it is natural because no two human are alike! But the principle, the value, and the vision of what Cambodian can become remain the same!

This SDACH AAY and his mother live under the mercy of Hun Sen, CPP and especially China.
They have no shame, no dignity and continue to exploit Khmer people who devote to monarchy. We'll see how they will act according to the decision of Hun Sen because they have to where to go.
Even China guaranties for their accommodation and support for the rest of their lives, living in China is a lonely life and alienate from their status. Therefore they have made their choice to low themselves to bow and listen very attentively to Hun Sen, Bunrany and Kong Sam Ol in exchange for their luxury lives as the traitor King and Queen.

The Opposition must determinedly fight with Hun Xen to win this damning unfair election, otherwise they will evidently lose again in 2018, because Youn will intentionally allow all or almost the old CPPers to retire, and carefully chose the young generations, whom were sending to study overseas, and the Hun Xen's son to be a next leader. In short, Youn will once again not only polisickally, but financially and religiously control Cambodia until becoming as Cambodia Krom?

People DID NOT vote for Hun Sen and ask that the election fraud be resolved before forming a new government.
