First Congress of the Vietnamese Association in province of Siem Reap
In the Morning 20/9, in the city of Siem Reap, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, the Association of the original Vietnam in Siem
Reap province has organized the its First Congress, through business
plans and executive committee elected the Provincial Assembly for new
term from 2013 -2016.
Attending the meeting by Vietnam
Consulate General in Battambang, Mr. Bui Duy Hai, Chairman of the
General Assembly of Vietnam in Cambodia, Chau Van Chi; affluent overseas
Vietnamese and a representative to the Cambodian community of
Vietnamese origin who live in Siem Reap.
Speaking at the
meeting, Consulate-General Bui Duy Hai appreciate patriotism and
contribution of overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia through the
Revolutionary period, calls her children to integrate into Cambodian
society and always direction of the country.
Mr. Bui Duy Hai
affirmed the consistent policy of the Party and State of Vietnam as the
Vietnamese community abroad is an integral part of Vietnam ethnic
community, always ready to care and help support the expatriates in
Cambodia in the Cambodian legal framework.
According to reports
the activities of the province from 2004 to the present, after the
establishment of Interim Executive Committee Provincial Council, the
activity gradually stabilize to maintain this building and work more
systematically inthe province.
Unions at all levels have
conducted activities to support and protect the legitimate interests of
the Vietnamese Community on the basis of local laws as well as laws and
international practices. Provincial Council has cooperated and receive
help from businesses, philanthropists built some handwriting training
schools, vocational training institutions for Vietnamese children in
Cambodia.
At the congress, the delegates discussed and approved
the Council's operations period 2013-2016, highlighting request
solidarity, advocacy efforts, set of three Cambodian Vietnamese origin
in the province to join the Business Council.
In time I will
Promote the consolidation and strengthening of social development,
continue to create good relations with the Cambodian authorities, and
actively protecting the legitimate interests of our children in the
community basis in the laws of host countries.

Do the Khmer people in Kampuchea Krom enjoy the same privileges?
WHY VIETNAMSE HAS PROVINCE AT SIEMREAP? IS IT SOLD TO THEM? WHAT ABOUT KAMPUCHEA KROM DID THEY LET KHMER FREEDOM SAME AS HERE? IN 1980 VIETCONG IN THIS PLACE LOOKING FOR SOLDIERS SURVIVES FROM KHMER REPUBIC TO PUT IN JAIL OR KILL,THAT WAS PUSH ME ESCAPED TO BORDER BRAUGH WITH ME WIFE AND KIDS IN MIDLE OF THE NIGHT LEFT MY OLD PARENT COULD NOT WALK THERE.FROM U S A READ KI-MEDIA.
Vietnam-Cambodia friendship works on a "ONE-WAY street" or double-standard:
1) Vietnamese community in Cambodia can watch any Vietnam-broadcasting TVs and Radios, while Khmer Krom of the Mekong Delta(South Vietnam) prohibited from watching any Cambodia-broadcasting TV channels (e.g. recent ban in Preah Trapang (Tra Vinh) province).
2) Vietnamese community in Cambodia can freely form and run any independent association, while Khmer Krom in the Mekong Delta (south Vietnam) face jail terms when asked for one (e.g. the Pali monks in Khleang (Soc Trang) province)
3) Vietnamese citizens can free cross border to Cambodia with little or no checking, while all Cambodian citizens visit Vietnam must face strict entrance rule. All belongings are scanned/examined, and even denied entry (e.g. Son Soubert who tried to visit his family homeland the Mekong Delta)
4) Vietnam officials have full access to all areas in Cambodia when visiting Cambodia, while Cambodia officials can only designated areas pre-arranged by the Vietnamese authorities.
5) Vietnam companies own many Cambodia's national resources and heritage such as Cambodia's rubber plantations, Sok Kong (a Vietnamese citizen) owns Angkor Wat, Bokor, etc., while Cambodian business owns nothing of Vietnam's key national resource.
