The state has a responsibility to all victims so there is no need to mention that Hun Sen & Bun Rany give assistance to everyone including those who voted for the opposition. After all, it is not Hun Sen's money anyway! The money comes from the state! If the money comes from his business cronies, well, they have evaded tax for so much and for so long that what they gave to Hun Sen for such a charity is a drop in the bucket. Again these cronies should pay the state fairly and not Hun Sen!
The failed policies of Hun Sen's government in the management of the forest which has led to the vast destruction of trees and the inability of his government to negotiate and discuss with Vietnam for a proper release of water and timing from their dams upstream contribute to the flooding seen in the areas.
Cambodian politicians from Hun Sen to Royals love to use public money to buy aid materials for the victims and then take all the credits for their political gain.
Hopefully by now Cambodians, no matter where they live, are politically mature and well informed to understand that what their leaders are doing is simply their duty, no more no less and thus they should always vote according to their conscience and not according to gifts received.
Take the gifts from Hun Sen and vote for whoever you believe can help you become independent economically and you won't have to come and sit for many hours for a bag of rice and a box of noodles!
Folks, each one of us has an obligation to teach and thus empower our Khmer brothers and sisters so they can hold their leaders responsible for every action these leaders make! Over time the people themselves will become the best weapon to prevent a dictator from holding power against their will.
