Dear School of Vice,

If you are here, please stick this post for a while. I have so many items to post for readers. If you are not here, I will adjust the time myself, although it's a little painful ;)

Dear School of Vice,

I went to look for the song 'On euy srey On' last week, but couldn't find the right one, with good quality. I found the other song in this movie instead (the wedding scene). By the way, the version you post here is not full version. I made a video for my own channel years ago, with the one my father had on an audio cassette for me, but poor quality. The DJ gave it to us since 1985. Here is the evident:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8l_tZqjMMk8 (full version)

By the way, I found my other favorite song through this related video 'Sovann Taen On'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgQj7Uq3LI8#t=52

I love this song and the movie very much. The movie is very sad. I went to watch the play since I was 7 years old with my big sister, right after the war. Sovann Taen On has two brothers. The older one turned to a devil by some spells. The second one is very nice, but later he turned into an alligator by some spells too. So sad. And the evil woman (her husband's second wife) tortured her so much. Very very sad, but I love it so much.

I also love the second song very much. They both are my best collection. The second song really makes me miss home though.

Dear Jendha,

Thank you for the info and links to your videos.

I think the song from the 'Srey On' movie has two versions, one is the longer version as screened in the movie itself [as heard in your video], and the other is subdivided into two songs out of the same song based on the movie! [I'm not making much sense, am I?].

It's quite possible that for commercial purposes or maybe something to do with motion picture copy rights, songs by the same title were usually recorded twice: one for the movie and another for general audio release on cassette tapes, records etc.

Occasionally, I came across the movie version of a song; although this is rare, and I find the tempo and 'feel' of the song to be distinctly far more superior to the common recorded version.

There are some movie songs from 'Tep Soda Jan' for example that I have heard that are markedly different as compared to the quality of the ones by the same titles and sung by the same singers, but could have been produced separately for public consumption outside the cinemas - probably!

By the way, I love the video song you made [posted above without your prior consent!].

Dear School of Vice,

As for 'On euy srey On' I don't know really know the story behind those two separate tracks. The one our DJ gave me came as one track only. You could be right, whatever you mentioned above ;)

Oh I love the movie 'Tep Soda Jan' so much. I love it too much, in fact. There are two songs by Ros Sereysothea and Sinn Sisamuth (not the Basaac version by Saing Sarun and Check Mach). I think I memorize the Basaac version really well because I used to listen to this at least once a day when I was young. Any movie about a girl from heaven, I would never skip ;) I think I used to live there once. I love the kind of extraordinary woman who falls in love with a poor man so much.

Yes, like I told you, I am a nature lover and I love poor people lifestyle more than anything. You would hardly see me using any photo of rich kid or fancy images in my video. I love the poor, a lot!

PS: I have to post many more items for readers, but don't want to push your 'Golden Memories' down to page 2 ;)

OK, I'll push the post up. And I thought you wanted me to get rid of it to make room for your many posts!

I think 'On Euy Srey On' along with another movie produced around the same time were adaptations of the Khmer classic love story of 'Tum Tev'. Both are masterpieces of Cambodian cinema of the Golden Era.

Jendhamuni said...

LOL!

I would never ever do that to 'Golden Memories'

I forgot to inform you that I love this Buddha statue soooo much!!! Thank you for posting this with 'Golden Memories' Buddha really adds beauty to your post ;)

Jendhamuni said...

Oh 'Tum Tev'is too sad. I stop watching this since I was 12. Tooo sad for me and I got so depressed so I stopped watching.

Dear School of Vice,

I need to steal that Buddha picture for my favorite song I'm working on. I'm not done making this video yet. Still collecting lovely and gorgeous photos ;) I need to collect a many photos of white flowers too just to add beauty to this song. It's the second song from the movie 'Preah Sothon and Keo Monpra' the part where she prayed to Buddha before being placed on fire. This picture would be perfect for that scene.

Dear Jendha,

What video manager programme are you using? Your videos all seem very professional and posh, unlike mine!

Jendhamuni said...

Dear School of Vice,

Your videos look really good to me. You can always keep in mind: No matter what program you use, the photo or video quality must be good enough. If it's a photo slideshow, do not use small photo, otherwise it looks pixelated.

For me, I use several different editing programs.

For videos I used both Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro. These two programs are expensive.

For video slideshows, such as 'On euy srey On' I used Wondershare DVD Slideshow Builder Deluxe. This program is very good. Save a lot of time for a lazy person like me. The software is cheap too, around one hundred dollars.

Note: No matter what program you use, do not use too much effects and transition. Not profession. A simple dissolve sometimes is okay, not all the time. Straight cut is always the best. I hardly watch any video that users used too many colors, effects and transition. Rule of thumb: Two colors should be used only. You can use three if and only if you really really know what you are doing.

My web and graphic design teachers are very very very picky. They hardly give As to students. Too bad, I have always been a straight A's student in all my design class. They love my style ;)

Goodness me! No wonder your and other people's videos always look so eye-catching!

And, please no use throwing all those complicated technical jargons at me!

Even if I have any of these super programmes, I doubt I would know how to use them! I think I'll stay with my down to earth MS video editor for now...

LOL! Does not hurt to learn ;)
I forced myself to learn everything. Besides cooking, I know how to do pretty much everything [I hope!]. My employer saves so much money for hiring me because I can handle tasks of five people at least ;) I'm all that! Live with it!

Well, it does me if it's to do with IT!

Jendhamuni said...

I don't just live in an IT world, I have been also a crime analyst for years. I worked very closely with police chiefs and undercover cops to weep out crimes. So this is a small world for me ;)

School of Vice said...

Hmmmm...too bad, I've said too much online!

It's my hope you haven't uncovered any criminal tendency in School of Vice!

If only you had disclosed this skill of yours earlier...

Jendhamuni said...

It's a revenge, for including me on one of your headlines a while ago ;)

I left the department almost 9 years ago to take an online editor job for newspaper back then. Of course, I keep getting new title from time to time ;) However, I love both of my job. Both journalism and crime analyst.

PS: You are School of Vice, I thought you are smart enough to pick up my behavior! I'm still me, making all my co-workers smile wherever I work. I feel like it's my duty ;) Like I said, I'm always Jendhamuni. So live with it!

Dear School of Vice,

Hmmmmmm.... I did not know you replaced two new songs. I thought you just wanted to stick the Buddha's picture a little longer ;) Love the Sovvan Taen On song soooo much!!!

And it's okay if you don't want to talk to me ;) I will not report you, to chief, but will report you to Hun Xen instead ;)

The songs are to help energise you knowing you sleep only two hours a day.

School of Vice would die from sleep deprivation with only 4 hours of sleep for the next 48 hours!

Me, think Jendhamuni is an alien, and now come to think of it, that's the reason all sort of unusual people are following you around...

Jendhamuni said...

Dear School of Vice,

LOL! After all my hard works, not School of Vice thinks I am an alien! Not fair! I'm a little hyper today, I didn't have time to sleep. I could only stay up three nights straight, if need be, then I have to sleep one night in order to stay up for another three nights. Doing this, I'm able to make many people happy. Remember, I'm here to serve people? So I got to live the life, and able to smile more than many human beings, although I don't eat and sleep like many of them ;)

Yes, 'Golden Memories help boost up my energy a lot. Thank you always for posting.

Tomorrow, 15 hours from now, I will head out to the United Nations Headquarters in New York, to join and videotape the Peaceful Demonstration. Hope you can help me post more interesting and flavorful news for readers, School of Vice. I will return to do my regular post and gossip when I return. New York is about 8 hours from my house, round trip. And the protest is 3 hours. So 3 hours plus 8 or 9 would be about 11 - 12 hours. Meaning I will be missing from the web for approximately 12 hours. I will try to post some short video clips and photos from the United Nations.

PS: Make sure you post a lot of 'Golden Memories' too. I will be very very very very upset if I don't see anything when I return.

Wow, I wrote so long. Hope I'm making some sense here :))))

Oh School of Vice,
I forgot to ask you. Do you know much about Mr. Peter Tan Keo? If you do, maybe your can come up some info for your post; if possible?

Jendhamuni said...

Sorry with all the typos. I typed too fast ;)

Jendhamuni said...

Dear School of Vice,

You need [must] make correction on the song, 'somphos jankreufa' not by Sin Sisamouth and Ros Sereysothea. By Sinn Sisamouth and Ms. Pen Ron. Hello!

LOL!!!

School of Vice said...

Hmmmm...

Sorry, I don't know anything about this individual. Time will tell

Jendhamuni said...

I cannot believe I trusted you too much on this. I was wrong! Ms. Pen Ron is very famous too, besides Ms. Ros Sereysothea. She's number 2, I believe.

LOL!

Jendhamuni said...

In the movie 'Phat jeay bondol jet'
where you posted two songs: 'Duong Jan euy' some time back, Ms. Pen Ron sings one song too, not 'Duong Jan euy' but this one: 'Preah Peay Phat' This is from the same movie.

Dear School of Vice,

This is one of my favorite songs from Ms. Pen Ron http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9o0pP-8k6k

I love this song very much. I watched this movie too, very very very sad. The female character killed herself. So sad. The two children is so lovely, one boy and one girl. This is Chinese melody. The movie is Chinese, called 'Pous troung oun tov'
