Opening of the 4th National Farmers' Forum

The 4th National Farmers' Forum was opened on October 17 in the Conference Room Chaktomuk, Phnom Penh, under the chairmanship of Sam Al Say, Minister of the Environment.
This two-day event was organized under the theme "Working together to improve the ability of farmers to adapt to climate change and food security", with the participation of representatives of farmers, researchers, representatives of organizations civil society, the private sector and the Royal Government.

Speaking on the occasion, Al Say Sam said the rally reflected the attention of the Royal Government to improve the ability of farmers to adapt to climate change, as well as addressing the problem of climate change to protect the environment, natural resource management and maintaining the balance between preservation and development.

The Environment Minister also emphasized the key role of his ministry at national and international level to coordinate and promote the implementation of measures to address the issue of climate change. In November, the Strategic Plan on Climate Change in Cambodia, a national priority to improve food security and nutrition, will be launched at the 3rd National Forum on Climate Change, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister High Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, has he added.
