US's PDAS to visit Cambodia early November

PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Scot Marciel, U.S. Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, will visit Cambodia on November 3-4, according to a U.S. Embassy statement on Wednesday.

The statement said that during the visit to Cambodia, he will meet with government and opposition officials, civil society, and business representatives to discuss the political situation in Cambodia, the press release said.

On the final day of his visit, the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary will hold a press conference, the statement added.

 Scot Marciel was appointed as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs in August, 2013 after working as the U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia for three years.

Before then, Mr. Marciel had worked as a U.S. diplomat in Vietnam, Philippines, Hong Kong, Brazil and Turkey.
