Muhibbah JV bags RM276m projects for Cambodia’s airports

KUALA LUMPUR: Muhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd and its joint venture partner has secured two contracts valued at US$87mil (RM276mil) to build and expand two airports in Cambodia.

It said on Wednesday that  Societe Concessionnaire de L’Aeroport – the JV of Muhibbah and Vinci Construction Grands – had secured the projects to build and expand the terminal building and the refurbishment of the Phnom Penh and Siem Reap Airports.

“In view of the rapid growth of airports passengers arrivals over the years and expected increasing trend of airports business, SCA has embarked on this capital expansion program to further extend and upgrade the international airports of Cambodia,” it said.

Muhibbah has a 30% stake in SCA. The duration for the Phnom Penh Airport and Siem Reap Airport is 28 months and 23 months respectively and both are expected to be completed by the end of 2015.

may i suggest they build cambodian airports big. how about 4000 meters in length and 60 meters in width and build them two or four, not just one runnway. cambodia wants a large international standard airports, not tiny ones like we have now. please build then huge for cambodia. make cambodia the center of aviation industry in southeast asia. khmer people want that.
