HANOI - Vietnam's legislature on Wednesday approved the appointment of two new deputy prime ministers, including Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, bringing to five the number of deputy prime ministers in Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung's cabinet.
Minh will continue to serve as foreign minister, a post he has held since 2011, while Vu Duc Dam will vacate his position as head of the Government Office.
Minh, 54, is a veteran diplomat who has served as Vietnam's ambassador to the United Nations and chief of mission of its embassy in Washington. He is the son of Nguyen Co Thach, a former deputy prime minister and foreign minister who died in 2006.

He is expected to help the prime minister deal with matters relating to education, science, culture and social affairs.
His appointment follows the departure from the cabinet of former Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, who has been appointed as head of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Vietnam's three other deputy prime ministers are Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Hoang Trung Hai and Vu Van Ninh. The previous cabinet only had four deputy prime ministers.

if vietnam can change, so should cambodia! the regional countries usually follow with one another, in changes, the other will inevitably change as well, sooner than later! i think that is beginning to be a trend in the asean community of nations, includes cambodia, of course! one country changes, the other will follow suite, like a domino effect. domino effect is not necessarily in only politics, it could be in development, etc as well!
