Cambodia Holds 2nd Sea Festival
PHNOM PENH, Dec 7, 2013 (Bernama) -- Cambodia held its second Sea Festival
in Southern Kep province on Saturday after the event was called off last
year following King Father Norodom Sihanouk's death, Xinhua news agency
reported.
The Ministry of Tourism said numerous sports and entertainment events will take place during the two-day festival including a live concert, aero show, fireworks display, food and beverage exhibition and beach and water sports activities.
Kaing Sothea, Promotion and Marketing Department deputy director from
the National Olympic Committee, said the event is expected to draw tens
of thousands of local and foreign visitors.The Ministry of Tourism said numerous sports and entertainment events will take place during the two-day festival including a live concert, aero show, fireworks display, food and beverage exhibition and beach and water sports activities.
Tourism Minister Thong Khon said in a recent press conference that the Sea Festival was aimed at promoting the country's coastal areas after they were officially registered as member of the Club of the World's Most Beautiful Bays in May 2011.
Cambodia has a pristine coastline stretching some 450 km over four provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Koh Kong, Kampot and Kep.
The second Sea Festival was organised by the Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the National Olympic Committee, Kep City Hall and tourism-related business operators.
The first Sea Festival was held in late 2011 in Preah Sihanouk province.

cambodia should build railroad lines connecting koh kong to kep along the coast. railroad is environmental friendly. and build it once, it'll last forever!
