PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Opposition party leader Sam Rainsy said that his party is considering renewing talks with the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) regarding Cambodia's political deadlock.

He made his comment Friday after a presentation and discussion session on a joint report about the conduct of the 2013 Cambodia Election.

Kem Sokha, Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) acting president, said that currently there is no talks in the works between the CNRP and the CPP.

Talks must be made if there is a political deadlock in the country, but there will be no way out if the CPP is to stubborn and thinks that they can perform the duties of the country alone.

"It is not about what we want or don’t want, but we must keep on working at it to solve the problem when there is an issue,” Kem Sokha told reporters, adding there will be no way out if we don’t solve it.

Interior Minister Sar Kheng could not be reached for comment over the opposition’s position.

Political problems caused by the election in the country has been going on for around six months since Cambodia's general election on July 28.

The opposition have rallied periodically to protest against the election results, in which they deemed contained to many serious irregularities, and demanded an independent probe into the poll.

Earlier in the week, Sam Rainsy called on Prime Minister Hun Sen to step down, and conduct a re-election.

The CNRP will hold another rally at Freedom Park on December 15.
