PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- The government has decided to revoke a proclamation, that went into effect in early December, which ordered telecommunication companies operating in Cambodia to set a minimum tariff on cellphone calls, according to a letter issued by the Office of Council of Ministers.
The letter issued Friday said that the decision to cancel the proclamation was made following a request by the Ministry of Post Office and Telecommunication and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The government announced the removal of the proclamation several days after a group of youths rallied at Wat Phnom Penh to protest against the new calling rates set by the Ministry of Post Office and Telecommunication. Read more click here
