PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party supporters chased out and banned a state TV journalist-photographer from entering Freedom Park to cover their protest rally, according to a reporter from The Cambodia Herald, who was on location at Freedom Park.
The reporter said that the journalist, who is also photographer, from National Television of Kampuchea (TVK), left the place immediately after he was chased out and banned from entering the site.
A TVK senior official expressed his dissatisfaction over the ban on his journalist-photographer.
"Your security guards have beaten Seng Chan, TVK photographer, at Freedom Park during your rally on Human Rights Day,” Kem Konvath, Director General of TVK, posted on his Facebook page, referring to the security guards of the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party.
He also asked the opposition leaders and supporters to stop this kind of discrimination from happening to journalists.
Opposition party supporters today marched along the streets of the capital to rally at Freedom Park where they marked International Human Rights Days before marching onto the National Assembly to present their petition.
The march took place in separate areas of the city and was led by opposition leaders, Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha.
