PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Interior Minister Sar Kheng on Wednesday said that he had ordered the police to open an investigation over the death threat against opposition party leader Kem Sohka via Facebook.
Khieu Sopheak, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said that Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng, had received complaints from the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) last weekend, and had ordered police to investigate the matter.
Yim Sovann, CNRP’s spokesman, sent an official letter to Sar Kheng on December 6 over the death threat against Kem Sokha.
The letter said that "Mr Peng Vannak wrote on his Facebook page that he kept seven bullets to shoot Kem Sokha; the first bullet is for shooting his left hand, the second bullet is for his right hand, and third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh bullets are for shooting his left leg, right leg, belly, heart and head."
