Brunei buys 1,500 tons of rice from Cambodia

Brunei confirmed that it will buy 1,500 tons of rice from Cambodia for the first time. The Brunei ambassador in Cambodia claimed that Cambodian rice taste good and fruits are also tasty, such as durians and mangoes. During a meeting with Sok An, the minister of the Council of Ministers, on 11 August 2009, Pengiran Haji Ismail, the Brunei ambassador to Cambodia, told Sok An that Brunei has decided to buy 1,500 tons of rice yearly from Cambodia, and there are other agricultural products that Brunei can also import form Cambodia, in particular fruits, such as durians and mangoes, that are in good quality and can replace those from Thailand. At the same time, Sok An and the Brunei ambassador also discussed about cooperation in trade, oil and gas and direct flights from Brunei.
