Dick-tator Hun Xen couldn't even muster 99.999% support?

The two dick-tators on the left and the right all receive 99.999% of support from their people. Dick-tator Hun Xen is the exception, he only receives a paltry 87%

Nom Benh, Nambodia – Because of his leadership popularity that leads to development in everything, in every fields, that’s why he receives support from the people from ALL OVER the country. A survey about the popularity of Samd’ach Techo Hun Xen in the leadership of the country rises up to 87%.

During a speech given at the inauguration of road and bridge in Stung Treng on 05 may, Hun Xen said that 81% of the answers provided by 2,000 people surveyed [KI-Media Note: Remember DAP news reported that it was from people from “ALL OVER” the country. So this means that the Banana Kingdom has only a population of … no more than 2,300, i.e. 2,000/87%] indicated that his regime is walking in the right path. Among those interviewed, 67% voted for the CPP and those who believed in Hun Xen accounted to 87% and those who don’t believe in Hun Xen is 13%. As for those who boasted so much [KI-Media Note: Only Hun Xen boasted about his popularity as far as we know], their support drops from 21% to 13%.

Hun Xen said: “Those who conducted the survey, they are not Cambodians, but foreigners [KI-Media: Do Vietnamese qualify as foreigners in Cambodia?], therefore don’t make a tantrum with the foreigners anymore.” Hun Xen claimed also that if the number of his supporters drops below 60%, he will resign from his position as priminister. He boasted: “I set the goal that if the number of people who stop believing in me drops to below 60%, I will leave my position in the party, my position as the priminister.” [KI-Media note: We are surprised that he would wait until the magic number of 60%, for a Dick-tator, receiving less than 99.999% of supporters is a complete failure!]

Hun Sen parroting his adopted father ... while trying to deflect all the blames on Pol Pot's regime

Hun Sen condemns the reactionary Lonnolians as being the cause of the destruction of Cambodia

Thursday, May 28, 2009
Kampuchea Thmei newspaper

Hun Sen condemned the republicans led by Lon Nol who perpetrated the military coup d’état that toppled Norodom Sihanouk in 1970, he accused them of being the source of the start of the destruction of Cambodia, and he also said that the genocidal Pol Pot regime was not the only one to bear the blame.

During the inauguration for the new Monivong bridge and the groundbreaking ceremony for a bypass bridge on 27 May, Hun Sen said that what was so pitiful was the destruction of the constructions built from previous regimes, in particular those built by Sihanouk’s Sangkum Reastr Niyum party when the then-prince was still leading the country, they were all destroyed by the Lon Nol regime and the genocidal Pol Pot regime [to which Hun Sen belonged to also].

Hun Sen said: “We shouldn’t place all the blame on the Pol Pot group alone for the destruction of Cambodia, but we also condemn the reactionary Lonnolians who perpetrated the coup d’état to topple Samdech Norodom Sihanouk, and they started the war all over the country.”

Hun Sen said that the massive bombing on Cambodia destroyed infrastructure in rural areas, pagodas, schools, bridges, roads were cut and even the Chroy Changvar bridge was destroyed [in fact by the KR and Vietcongs with whom Hun Sen sided with] during the 1970-75 war, and if there was no “reactionary treachery” on 18 March 1970, there would likely be no pitiful destruction that the Cambodian people suffered, along with the lost of several million of lives between 1970 and 1975, and also between 1975 and 1979.

Hun Sen declared that all the destructor groups should be condemned: both the Lon Nol regime and the Pol Pot regime [which Hun Sen belonged to]. “We, the CPP, stood up and we used our lives as the investment to liberate the people, liberate Phnom Penh, it was very pitiful when we entered Phnom Penh, there were no people at all, it was frightening,” Hun Sen boasted.

Hun Sen said: “We started, little by little, from using our lives as investment to liberate the country, to using our 2 palms to build the city, build the country while we were surrounded by injustice from outside, including that of the UN. We struggled to get up, little by little with one hand preventing the return of the genocidal regime, and the other hand resolving the hunger problem left by the Pol Pot genocidal regime, and we rebuilt little by little.”

In his speech, Hun Sen noted that when compared to the beginning of 1979, trips outside of Phnom Penh this year have almost doubled and that this truly shows that the Monivong bridge has now become two bridges. Hun Sen added that this construction is a show to everybody, including those who are partial, who do recognize the truth, who do not want to hear or know, or talk about the truth, every time they travel on this bridge [… but Hun Sen forgot to mention that the bridge was built with foreign aid, and the CPP did not contribute a single penny to its construction.]

Hun Sen is “Cambodia chauffeur” [or is it “chauffard*”?]

*Chauffard: French word for reckless driver

During a speech given at a distribution of diplomas at the Pedagogy University in Phnom Penh on 22 December, Hun Sen talked about various current issues on internal politics.

While announcing that his speech was the last one for this year, the prime minister talked about various issues related to recent news, and retail gasoline price was also a topic he touched on. “If I yell against high prices, then they will drop. But, if I don’t say anything, they do not move. Therefore, I am asking the national companies Tela and Sokimex to make another effort, a new lowering of the price will be a year-end gift to me. It is more difficult to make the request to foreign companies such as Total and Caltex. I am thinking of negotiating directly with all the companies soon, on the policy of gasoline price. This is important because it influences the cost of transportations.”

Hun Sen then turned to traffic road safety and especially on the application of the law for mandatory helmet use, a law which will be strictly observed by the cops starting 01 January 2009. “I am appealing to all Cambodians, all motorcycle drivers, to wear helmet at 100% to avoid a large number of fatal accidents. Helmet wholesalers should not take advantage [of this issue] to increase their price. The cost of traffic accidents is higher for the state than the fight against AIDS and demining. Civil servants should set example and they must all wear helmets. Each ministry must control its personnel and check that the law is respected. If civil servants do not respect the law, how can we ask others to do it?” Hun Sen said.

Hun Sen also touched upon control and repression measures against gambling parlors. “Since my declarations made in the past weeks, gambling parlors equipped with unauthorized slot machines, i.e. outside of hotels, have been shut down. Now, we are proceeding to the control of the nationality of gamblers who are using these parlors which are prohibited to Cambodian nationals. Some parlors are protected by high-ranking officials. Those who are identified as responsible for these actions will be demoted from their positions,” Hun Sen threatened. He also discussed about the need to control betting parlors and karaoke institutions as the latter are sometimes linked to drug trafficking.

Hun Sen finally talked about his political longevity. “I was the youngest PM, at 32-year-old. I am still the one who remains the longest in this position: 24 years. At the end of this mandate, it will be 29 years. It is certain that I will again be the candidate in 2013 since the opposition is so weak. But, being PM is not simple. If a bad decision is taken, the entire country will suffer from it. Cambodians know that their chauffeur, even with only one eye, he pays attention to his driving,” Hun Sen ended by mentioning about one of his eyes he lost more than 30 years ago.

Barely 3 months into his new term, Chao Chak Smok Hun Xen is already preparing his next election victory in 2013

Hun Sen vows to secure premier candidacy for next general election

PHNOM PENH, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Monday made oath that he would join the next general election in 2013, once again as premier candidate of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP).

"In 2013, I will be only 61 years old and still firm," he told the graduation ceremony of a university.

"Even now, I have already become the longest ruling prime minister in Asia and made historical record," he added.

Hun Sen has been premier of Cambodia since 1985.

His CPP just won 90 out of the 123 seats of the National Assembly in this year's general election on July 27.

The current government has been the fourth one since the kingdom ended its civil war at the end of last century.

Son Chhay: “There is a possibility that [Hun Sen] might be voted out of office in the near future, so he has to say something good..."

The prime minister has declared that he will move the Army Command Headquarter outside of the capital to make way for a construction of a hospital: that is to transform a war zone into peace.

Speaking in an inauguration ceremony of Royal Rattanak Hospital in Phnom Penh on the 20th March, Prime Minister Hun Sen (pictured) said that the transformation of an Army Command Headquarter into a hospital is to make the city a safe place, a tourism site, a cultural site and a comfort site.

The PM said: “This land is very huge and very beautiful. The Army Command Headquarter was located there since the French colonial period. And I want to transform a war zone, a killing zone into a fine hospital. So, please help me to check out the place, if we can put the hospital there it would be nice. It is a junction, the ground is very nice and that land, if we offer the buyer for $30 million they will buy it without hesitation. Not only $30 million, even $50 million they will buy it. But we will not sell it because it is an historic site where we will transform it from war into peace.”

The PM reiterated that: “The issue of school lands and hospital lands must be preserved because, perhaps in the future, we have the money to build them but we don’t have the lands in which to build them on.”

This declaration was made following the launching of the construction phase of a 42-story Gold Tower, which will be the tallest building in Phnom Penh, and which is located at the site of the old Cambodian-Chinese Friendship Hospital.

In relation to the prime minister’s speech, an opposition MP from the Sam Rainsy Party, Mr. Son Chhay, has criticised the PM’s word as good for listening in order to canvass votes. In reality, many of the state land sites had already been sold.

Mr Son Chhay said: “There is a possibility that he might be voted out of office in the near future, so he has to say something good to persuade the people to change their mind and their stance.”

The president of the Cambodian Economic Association, Mr. Chan Sophal, spoke in support of Prime Minister’s declaration by explaining that, at present, state properties are getting less and less, so it is best that there is a measure to prevent the sales.

Hun Sen's victory speech premature

Election Group: Victory Speech Premature

By Sok Khemara, VOA Khmer
Original report from Washington
03 March 2008

A democracy group said Friday a speech made by Prime Minister Hun Sen announcing ruling party victories in July's national polls marked typical electioneering and should not deter Cambodians from voting their conscience.

Hun Sen said Thursday the Cambodian People's Party was bound to win this year's national elections.

The outcome is ultimately up to voters, said Lee Sothearayuth, a program officer for the National Democratic Institute.

"It's not any individual, activist or politician who can define their fate, but only voters who can," he said.

At least one election monitor said the speeches could lead to suspicion of vote-tampering during the parliamentary polls.

Hun Sen boasts about "diamond" opportunity in Cambodia ... let's see how long this peace and security will last before the 2008 election

Hun Sen: Diamong opportunity must be preserved at all cost

Wednesday, January 23, 2008
Everyday.com.kh
Translated from Khmer by Socheata

Prime minister Hun Sen declared that Cambodia need to preserve not only the golden opportunity, but also the diamond opportunity, at a time when neighboring countries are facing with insecurity. During a speech given at the inauguration of a building on Monday, Hun Sen said that, currently, Cambodia has peace all over the country, and the people can travel anywhere, day and night, without any concerns, unlike other countries in the region which are facing security problems, like those in The Philippines, Sri Lanka, and in particular, in Thailand which, currently, has peace for 4 days and must face 3 other days of terrorism. Whereas, Cambodia has 100% peace, that is why Hun Sen called on the Cambodian people to preserve not just the golden opportunity, but also the diamond opportunity, at all cost. Hun Sen added that, right now, even if Cambodia or the Cambodian people have not turned into a rich country or rich people, the Cambodian people have no concerns, and they need not dig trenches, or they have to flee and escape. Hun Sen said that this is a good point that should not be let out of our grasp.

Hun Sen: We have a full bank account ... even though 75% of our people live with less $2 per day

Cambodian bank reserves rising exponentially, says prime minister

Jan 15, 2008
DPA

Phnom Penh - Cambodian bank reserves have increased exponentially in the past five years, Prime Minister Hun Sen said Tuesday.

Speaking outside the country's National Assembly, Hun Sen told reporters that for every unit of currency held by Cambodian banks in 2003, they now held now 200 units. Cambodia's economy operates in Cambodian riel and the US dollar, with some provinces also holding significant amounts of Thai baht.

At the end of the 2003 financial year the nation's central bank director Chea Chantho announced the nation's international reserves had doubled to 670-million-dollars.

Hun Sen's assertion comes after Thursday's announcement by Standard and Poor's that it had awarded Cambodia a group 10 status on its Banking Industry Country Risk Assessment scale - the lowest rating possible.

However, the ratings agency praised the country's massive overhaul of its banking sector legislation and declared its prospects promising as the economy continues to grow after 30 years of war.
