Click on the poem to zoom inCartoonist Sacrava indicated that on April 29, 2008, some Cambodian friends of Prof. Keng Vannsak were invited for lunch at Prof. Keng Vannsak's home. But, as it turned out, the lunch was in fact a wedding reception between the professor, an 83-year old groom, and Yvonne, his 38-year-old Vietnamese bride. Shocked and unable to stand some of the scenes they witnessed, Prof. Keng Vannsak's Cambodian friends left his house. To their great surprise, when they left, they also found out that two boxes of Prof. Keng Vannsak's writing were lying in the garbage can. We suspect that this event may have inspired the Khmer poem above by Ms. Ulla Uma, a former student of Prof. Keng Vannsak, dedicated to her former teacher. It should be noted also that Prof. Keng Vannsak wrote a book titled:
Kuk Kam Kek-less.
