Phnom Penh – A reliable source indicated that Say Chhum, the second vice-president of the National Assembly, chairman of the CPP central committee and member of the CPP permanent committee, was hit a stroke and he was sent to Singapore for emergency case this evening following his care at Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh.
The source added also that Say Chhum’s health condition worsened in the evening of 31 March and he was taken in emergency to the Calmette Hospital by his family.
Doctors indicated that Say Chhum has high blood pressure, and when he arrived at the hospital, he had a stroke. However, the latest news indicated that his condition seems to improve and he can move his hands.
This CPP VIP, who is also the CPP MP from Kampong Speu, is known as an active party member and also an active MP.
Say Chhum is the CPP no. 5 VIP, and he is well respected by CPP party officials.
