Former experts in Cambodia to meet in Hanoi
Almost 600 Vietnamese experts who had worked to assist Cambodia’s national construction after the demolition of the Pol Pot genocidal regime plan to meet in Hanoi on September 8.
Nguyen Van De, deputy head of the liaison committee for former Vietnamese experts in Cambodia, told the press on August 30 that tens of thousands of Vietnamese experts had worked in Cambodia since 1979 to help the neighbouring country restore its economy, education and culture, protect national independence and sovereignty and improve the people’s living standards.
The liaison committee was set up in August 16, 1998 with the aim of further cementing the traditional friendship between the two nations.
